I love to cook, eat yummy vegan food (especially Thai),curries, spend time with good friends, read, living in the mountains, fall leaves, apples, winter squash, tending fires, getting into bed when its cold, going to sleep when I'm sad, shavasana after Ashtanga Yoga, collecting cool rocks, getting away without bathing, good (and even not so good)live theatre, the Orlando Fringe Festival, working to save the world, supporting local bands, shops, farmers, farmer's markets.
Who I'd like to meet: The people I love best
jump into work head first
without dallying in the shallows
and swim off with sure strokes almost out of sight.
I love people who harness themselves, an ox to a heavy cart,
who pull like water buffalo, with massive patience,
who strain in the mud and the muck to move things forward,
who do what has to be done, again and again.
The work of the world is common as mud.
Botched, it smears the hands, crumbles to dust.
But the thing worth doing well done
has a shape that satisfies, clean and evident.
Greek amphoras for wine or oil,
Hopi vases that held corn, are put in museums
but you know that they were made to be used.
The pitcher cries for water to carry
and a person for work that is real.

This is from public hearing in Knoxville, TN about the Stream Buffer Zone Proposal, which if enacted, would legitimize the practice of mountaintop removal coal mining. And that would really suck.Learn more about this proposal on iLoveMountains.org

Hey! Here's the info on my show for this year's Fringe... a far cry from Mountaintop Removal.
Carbon Productions, LLC. is proud to announce the premiere of Kathryn Davis's new one-woman comedy Parlour Games at the 2008 Orlando International Fringe Theater Festival. Mrs. Davis plays Vivian Penmark, a "classically trained" housewife & mother, who is touring the country to promote her book about how to be a model woman in a modern world. She tutors the audience in the areas of beauty, housekeeping/cooking, etiquette, child rearing, and animal husbandry. Among other domestic duties, she will be giving tips on how to remove blood stains from upholstery and dispose of unwanted guests while still having time for blowjobs and Sunday School. But not everything is as it seems, and Vivian reveals her true motives through "parlour games" she plays with the audience. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments served.
