PETA even considered helping Vick get back into the game by making him an animal-rights spokesperson!
Mr. Vick will try to rehabilitate his image. People
with knowledge of his comeback plan said it will also include mea culpa
TV interviews, PSAs and charitable donations to other animal-rights
organizations (or perhaps the formation of his own foundation), along
with the possibility of working with HSUS. But this might be the mother of all PR jobs. Mr. Vick's obstacles are many: a hard-line NFL commissioner who wants to see "genuine remorse" before reinstating Mr. Vick to the league; individual franchises that might be wary of the backlash and potential damage to their brands from signing Mr. Vick; and an incredulous public that remains shocked by the story.
" I don't think Vick needs to be forever condemned, but to make him a spokesmen for animal rights is insane. He just wants a public relations stunt to make him look good. Do you really think he cares about the treatment of animals? The answer is NO! "
We know how society trains every one to revolve around the media and sports....
DO WE REALLY WANT THE PUBLIC TO LOOK UP TO MICHEAL VICK?
----That it's ok to HURT living breathing vessels as long as we are "sorry" after wards?

Compassion for Animals ( www.compassion4animals.org - under construction) is putting together an event of epic proportions - the first annual Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale, June 20-28, 2009.
The idea is simple: Groups across the world hold vegan bake sales during this period (two weekends and the week in between). Besides being a fun and relatively easy way to promote vegan food, vegan cooking, and veganism, if enough groups participate we're hoping to leverage that into some good positive mainstream press about veganism.
Groups who participate can do whatever they want with the proceeds of the bake sale. There's no central collection point; it's very de-centralized. The only rules are 1) all the food must be vegan, 2) don't sell or distribute other stuff at the bake sale that obviously clashes with veganism (e.g., a hunting manual). I guess a third rule, although not strict, is - let us know about your bake sale.
The web site is www.veganbakesale.org. The site has general info, bake sale and vegan baking tips, a signup form, and a partial list of participants (which will be complete soon). The email contact for more info is info@veganbakesale.org. We plan to make this an annual event.
Since the festivities start in two months, if you're interested in participating you probably need to get your venue secured soon - that may be top priority. The rest is relatively fun and easy. You may also want to check on the www.veganbakesale.org site to see if there's already a bake sale in your area looking for volunteers.
