   About Veil Maker
Veil Maker is no longer a band. See blog for more information. Also, check out Matt and Cecil's new project, Aurora.
Veil Maker was birthed in ash and rises in smoke.

..

"Veil Maker are one of those rare bands who, having disregarded convention and genre boundaries, have created something powerful, vital, and indefinable."
- Threeohsix (Read the Review Here)

"Brilliant and swaggering with a drunken shoegazing approach to songwriting amid progressive post-rock with melodies painted on like abstract art. This is the new sound."
- Smother (Editor's Pick, Read the Review Here)

"[Veil Maker] produce some of the grandest surreal, epic, progressive post rock you have ever heard."
- Decoy Music (Read the Feature Here)

I have just finished a new collection of ambient sounds called "Oceans. Vol. 1"
It is a mix of gentle moody tracks, and ambient soundscapes.
You can listen to a few tracks off the cd on my profile as well as you can preview the whole cd at www.last.fm/music/Stray+Theories/Oceans.+Vol.+1

The album is available to buy as a high quality digital download from www.blastmymusic.com/straytheories

hope you like

Great show tonight, sad to see the band go, but excited to hear the new projects. Unfortunately I wasn't there early enough to hear Aurora. Next time.

I am also very sad to see the band break up! I felt so lucky to have stumbled upon you guys about a year ago. I really love the EP and I have been wondering and wondering when this beautiful music was going to explode in popularity. Truly, everybody I showed the music too loved it as well. Very sad news...

But good luck in your future endeavors.

Much love,
Matt

Sad to see you no longer together. Be happy about what you've accomplished as a band, you leave a great EP that will still sound great in a decade I am sure, it is not trendy music. I hope you manage to get some sort of recording of the songs you wrote over the last year or so and you get them to some interested parties ;)

Thanks for the great music and good luck in your future endeavours! I look forward to them.

Man, it seems like another staple band in the Edmonton Scene is breaking up every other week this spring. Sad times, indeed.

I will assuredly be front and center for the last shows. I'll also need to get my hands on the live recordings of the new songs as soon as I can. Gah, all of the new material was sounding so good.

Well, I suppose out of the ashes of Veil Maker there will be other sweet projects, so I shouldn't grieve too hard.

Best of luck with the rest. I'll be there for you (baby).

"It is this dark and mysterious play which we systematically attempt to avoid, to arrest, to dominate, to 'attenuate, veil, sweeten, blunt and falsify' with an arsenal of explanatory-hermeneutic devices, the instruments of comfort devised by cataphatic hermenutics, the maker-of-veils, hermeneutics as Schleier-machen, veil making."

We are on a grueling mission to say "Hey, what's up?" to as many of our friends as we can. We're kinda cool like that!

Feel free to stop by, say hi back, read a blog, case a vote...just generally be cool 'like that' too!
