BIO
VeiL is a Greek Death Metal band formed in Karditsa, a small town in central Greece, in 2003. The band consists of the following members George E (drums, vocals), Chris Sven (guitar, vocals), and George Sven (bass).
The making up of the band has had many changes since its formation. Nowdays, only two (2) of the original members, George E and Chris Sven participate in the band. The rest have withdrew.
The initial members of the band, classmates and friends, were George E (drums, vocals), Chris Sven (guitar), Anastasis (guitar), Aristos (bass), and Stathis (vocals). After a while Stathis withdrew from the band and Aristos took over the vocals duties. This last making up recorded its first demo in summer 2005. They used to play a style of music that fuses black, doom, and death metal.
The demo, entitled ‘Forest Oblivion’, consists of five (5) songs, accompanied by an intro and an outro. It has been recorded in Nemesis Studio, Kavala, Greece, within only three (3) days. Tassos Karapapazoglou was the producer.
Prior to the writing and the recording of the E.P., the initial form of the band changed. Most of them withdrew. Only George E and Chris Sven did not. After that, George Sven participated in the band.
After the last participation, the band started working on a new style at the beginning of 2009. Their first E.P. ‘Blinkers Define the Spasm’ consists of five (5) songs and it was home recorded in summer 2009 by Veil and John Trifonopoulos. The mixing was done by Aris Stabolidis and the mastering by Andy Classen in Stage-One-Studio . The release of this E.P. is self-financed.
At the moment, the band members work on the promotion of the E.P., meanwhile they work on their studies too, George E on Engineering of Spatial and Urban Planning and Regional Development and Chris Sven on Information Management.
