Velvet Blue Music is a 100% independent label that was started in 1996. There is no parent company funding or taking profits from the label. All decisions, for better or for worse, are made by us!
The label was started by Jeff Cloud as a way to release artists that were making music that was a bit left of center. Cloud a musician himself (pony express, starflyer 59, joy electric, party people) was always running across great artists who were being over looked, and he decided to do what he could to change this.
Now 126 releases later Velvet Blue Music has left a small but meaningful mark in the history of independent music. Releases from such artists as Map, Richard Swift, Viva Voce, Doug Burr, Denison Witmer, Rocky Votolato, Starflyer 59, Joy Electric, Brandtson, Lassie Foundation, LN, Kissing Cousins Menomena,Frank Lenz, etc have helped to make the label what it is today, quality, slightly left of center music.
I find it odd that U2 is getting all the attention for playing at the 20th anniversary of the wall coming down in Germany. For me, it would be far more interesting (and appropriate) if Einstürzende Neubauten played. They could cover a Scorpions song. Someone get me Hasselhoff on the phone!

Nice to meet what I assume is an avant garde Christian / metaphysical music label. Where are the experimental Christian musicians. Seems like me and Joy Electric are the only ones out there! Please tell me I am wrong!
