Velvetbox is an exciting indie outfit fronted by charismatic singer, Lawson Carroll. Carroll, a Newfoundlander, known particularly for his angelic voice and prolific lyrics, casts unique perspectives on the marriage of words and music. Amidst pulsating bass lines and brutally beautiful ballads, Carroll paints evocative images on a canvas of eloquent musical landscapes. With sonic guitar, haunting atmospheres and a professor on the drum kit, Velvetbox is a slick all-star band. Phil White (bass), Daryl Deskin (guitars) from the ultra sauve Montreal band, Brighton, former Cranberries (drummer), the powerful, Fergal Lawler and Lawson Carroll are poised to take Velvetbox into international territory.
