Depeche Mode slinks into a back alley to meet The Dandy Warhols and Jet in a triple secret rendezvous. They "comingle"; resulting in the cosmic birth of a red-headed step child which is none other than: Velveteen Robot
Formed in the Summer of 2006, Velveteen Robot can be summed up as 80’s New Wave meeting 90’s alt rock with strong emphasis on memorable hooks and dynamic song-writing. With Kirk Nebel on vocals/guitar, and Vince Milanov on drums, Velveteen Robot is known for an explosive live show with layered sonic textures and vocal harmonies.
Velveteen Robot has had a number of songs licensed for use in TV/Film, including four songs used in the 2009 Independent Film "Come Together". They've performed over 100 live shows over the last two years on the West Coast alone.
Kirk Nebel, originally from Portland OR, has had songs cut for major TV commercials including Victoria’s Secret.
Vince Milanov comes from Bulgaria where his band Millennium spent 8+ weeks at the NO.1 spot on the European Billboard charts.
2009-2010 looks bright for Velveteen Robot as they will release their 2nd album and continue to perform all over southern California.
