Velveteen Sky have made a highly anticipated return after their 6 month break, and have already created a buzz within the
industry.
Just one month after forming in 2008 the band were amongst the top 5 groups selected to have the chance to open for Bon Jovi on their visit to Australia last year.
Although they didn't land the spot, disappointment was short lived as Velveteen Sky were personally invited to open for Rocker's Airbourne on the very same night. It was one hell of a show!
Days after releasing their debut ‘self titled’ EP, the band was put on hold as the drummer and bassist were unable to continue, but the music wasn't. Lead vocalist/guitarist Dean Williams (19) and guitarist Daniel Varcoe (20) refuse to give up, they continue writing and honing their skills.
The missing links were discovered in Bassists Liam Brown (19) injecting funky grooves giving this high energy Rock n' Roll outfit distinct edge, and Drummer Anthony Troiano displaying the soulful dynamics and feel of a musician beyond his 20 years. Understandable; he's been behind the kit since he was 3.
Each member has worked with world class musicians within other bands and/or as session muso's. Reforming early march 09 the Velveteen Sky boys are set to be a Rock Powerhouse!
Together, they've perfected old Material with each band member writing killer new tracks... Velveteen Sky are certainly one to watch.
