We're VELVET MOJO from Newcastle, Australia. We're a Funk/Rock trio & we've been gigging round for almost 2 years now playing the majority of Newcastle's venues & many in Sydney, but are extremely keen to hit the road & start spreading the word.
Our sound is reminiscent of early Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Faith No More, Incubus and Audioslave, mashed in a blender with cheap wine & bourbon & served Cool (ICE COOL!!!). Or whatever you think. Thats what really counts.
Cuppa Jo' is our first and only recording to date which we completed earlier this year on a very modest budget.
It's a 7 track E.P and we're extremely proud of how it turned out but we can't wait to get back in the studio and lay down our newer songs which we think are even better.
VELVET MOJO is the brainchild of Hoyo & ex-member Funky Dan & came about when the 2 met through a music business course at TAFE. They've had a tumultuos history with many twists & turns but are finally ready to FUNKIN GROOVE!!!

dude losing a member sucks balls. we just lost our bass player so now our singer plays bass as well. gone from a 4 piece to a 3 piece...but cant complain. now we are taking time off for the singer to learn the bass parts which wont take long. we will hook something up together when we are all ready and it should be fucking awsome.
