It's a new club night for loud and fun, garage, punk and surf rock for people
who like art, beer and smiling.
It started life as a fanzine in 1991-1997
My dad photocopied it at work then i gave it to mates for free,
until issue 3 when i gave it to them and then asked for 50p
It was first called "We Thought You Were S***" but i realised it didn't sound
too good when i was phoning labels asking to interview their bands.
The fanzine has featured Pavement, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion,
Palace, Rocket From The Crypt, Swans, Girls vs Boys...
Was featured on the late John Peel's Radio One show.
He read a bit about when a mate's bowel movement was inspired
by the loudness of a Caspar Brotzmann gig.
Velvet Sheep was also shown alongside "Dazed and Confused"
magazine at the Victoria & Albert museum as part of their "Street Style"
exhibition in 1993.
Gave the fanzine to MTV's Toby Amies and ended up
working as an intern on his "Alternative Nation".

Who I'd like to meet: Meg White, Kate Nash and then...music officianados, edutainers, punk rockers, hip hoppers, writers not fighters, people who make love not war, wannabes with talent, new wave, now wave, no wave, swimmers in the streams of consciousness, people who talk about themselves in the third person or say pretentious moi? and those who love Gonzo the green furry muppet, or Gonzo the Hunter S Thompson writing style, not any other forms of Gonzo. Oh and citizens of the World.
