Véme Anya is a multi-talented, culture hacking, polyglot who has studied music since her childhood in India. Her lyrics are crisp, poetic and in-your-face relevant. Her vocal styling blends Rock, Blues, Pop and Hip-Hop. She is a one-woman powerhouse: writing, composing, guitar and sitar playing, singing and producing all her tracks. Véme has a mystical side rooted in India, a high-fashion vibe from her work as a model, and a cosmopolitan facet from her international education. She is presently involved in creating a non-profit foundation for women in the third world. She lives with her pound puppy Zen in Los Angeles, California.
Véme’s Pet Project
More than half the net profit from ALL downloads go to VÉME’S PET PROJECT from where the funds are used to help save animals on the red list (those in imminent danger of being euthanized ) in various Los Angeles Animal Shelters.
I believe we reveal who we are by how we treat those among us who can't speak for themselves.
Veme's Pet Project is my own humble way of helping orphaned animals
trapped in shelters and condemned to die. About 50 of them are
euthanized, EVERYDAY, 365 days a year! For most, the axe may fall at
any time since shelters are legally obligated to keep them alive for
just a few days, and the sad truth is, the shelters are under constant pressure to
make space for the influx of new animals that they receive
everyday.
So, I feel, it's on US to do something to help our animal friends!
I've rescued dogs in the past and continue to do so. Now I'm taking it
a step further and using at least half the net profit from the sale of
my music towards rescuing and finding homes for animals on death row
in shelters around LA. And it doesn't cost much: just $20 can save

Véme’s Pet Project is a fund I started to help help save animals in shelters that are slated to be euthanized. We work directly with Los Angeles Animal Services who use all funds received from VPP towards helping find homes for them before it’s too late.
We also help to connect anyone who rescues a red list animal or a stray, with a list of providers of discounted products and services such as pet stores, groomers, dog walkers, veternarians, etc.
2) What exactly are the funds in Véme’s Pet Project used for?
The funds are used towards:
a) Subsidizing the cost of adopting a red list animal. It costs anywhere from $20 to $90 to adopt an animal, dogs being the most expensive.
b) Adoption drives to promote the rescue of red list animals.
c) Any and all measures that help find permanent and foster homes for red list animals and to help new owners and their pets to adjust to ach other.
d)Helping animal lovers with genuine financial hardship, who have the desire to rescue or foster, but lack the means to adopt and care for a new friend!
3)Define net profit
Our net profit per track roughly calculates to 30c. Out of this, about $0.25 goes towards Véme’s Pet Project. Below is an approximate breakdown:
Cost per track = $0.99
SNOCAP deducts = $0.15
Our expenses = $0.42 (includes recording and production costs)
Taxes = $0.10
Net Profit = $0.33
