Atif Khan: drums
Kristian Perry: guitar
David Stamm: Vocals, Bass
Post-metal trio Vent Silence has
stunned and amazed audiences in Washington DC and Baltimore
for the last three years with a unique sound that is both thoughtful and
thunderous, beautiful and vicious.
It all began nearly 10 years ago when poet-guitarist Kristian Perry met up with classically trained singer/bassist David Stamm.
They were fast friends and quickly began making music together. They joined forces with drummer Atif Khan in early 2004. An accomplished
visual artist with a command of rhythmic styles from jazz to hardcore, Atif shared their dream of
creating beautiful yet savage music. Their partnership culminated in a full length album, which is to be released soon.
In 2006, David left the band, and is now a writer and filmmaker in NY. Realizing it was impossible to replace David's artistic contribution, Atif
and Kristian looked for someone to help take Vent Silence in a new direction. In June 2006 they found that new partner. Vincent, a bassist from Holland by way of Ohio. Vincent brings the technical virtuosity of metal and a fearless experimental streak to the mix.
This new group is called The Wine-Dark Sea. Post-Rock with a dash of hardcore. Come over and see us sometime!
