About me:

Venus Cunt Trap exists, at its core, to promote female solidarity in the face of a patriarchal society that would otherwise see us pitted against one another in competition. Our group serves as a safe and confidential place for women to seek eachother’s advice, friendship and support in an all female environment. We promote eachother’s overall health and well-being through education, discussion, literature, community organizing, volunteering and event planning. Though all female, VCT is male positive and believes that the male role in the greater picture of feminism is a vital one. The weekly meetings will, however, remain all female. It is key for our endeavors and accomplishments to be self-made, without any pressure to adhere to outside standards or strive for the approval of anyone but ourselves.

Along with monthly organizational meetings, VCT also hosts a co-ed event every other month to include male members. This serves as a rare and constructive opportunity to bring our male friends into the picture, and learn from eachother’s perspectives. We believe that the male presence is very important for particular events, especially in terms of educational discussions and courses that we will regularly host about issues of sexual intimacy, violence or other emotional issues.

The cornerstone of VCT is the weekly, all female discussion group. One evening per week is dedicated to discussion, on or off planned topics, with or without reading materials. The goal of the group discussions is to establish and maintain a trusting bond between a group of females through open, honest, and completely confidential exchanges about a widely varied range of topics. Every VCT gathering and discussion, whether co-ed or all female, is to remain completely confidential so that everyone included can take part in experiencing the fundamental benefits of VCT.

We believe that VCT is a way for us to enrich ourselves and eachother. We have seen the capability of female solidarity to keep us all strong, grounded, confident, mentally sound and secure. VCT is not a place of constant seriousness. We believe in living life well and giving and receiving love. We believe in healthy sexuality, free expression, the beauty of our true selves, and of total liberation from the tyranny that is not only created for us, but that we create for ourselves.
