Jenny, Jedediah, and Brett live in New York City.
Brett plays drums in Jedediah's other project, My Teenage Stride.

Brett was starting a new project and really liked Jenny's voice when he happened to listen to a few songs by her band, The Birds and Bees, so he asked her if she wanted to be a part of the new project.

She said "yes".
Jedediah was interested as well, so they began writing and recording as a 3-piece.
The first song they came up with is the dark but bouncy "Girls In Cars".
They all liked this song very much and decided that they should officially become a band, complete with a name and everything.
It was at this point that it was suggested that they call themselves Verboten. They all agreed that it was a good name and so it became theirs.
Although Brett and Jededia both play the drums, neither of them are able to do it while playing bass or guitar, so the band needs a full-time drummer. Let them know if you'd like to do this for them.
like the new song. can you, however, make one with more "huey lewis and the news" influence to it? i think that would be a good direction. was someone going to send me a cdr?
This is officially the best song that I've heard all morning. Your guys are great! I was sitting here at work (on myspace of course) dog tired waiting for that first cup of coffee to kick in when girls and cars came on and now I'm energized and optimistic... That's no small feat for a wednesday morning.
