Pacific Northwest Surf. You naturally think of bands like Satans
Pilgrims, The Surf Trio and other great surf bands based out of
Portland, Oregon. The Verbtones are working to earn a spot on that
list.
The band was formed in 2001 by VFF (Verbtones Founding Father) and lead
guitar player Kyle who recruited Steve on skins,Tom
on bass and Scot on guitar.
Together they showcase their haunting, spine-chilling
vintage-yet-modern surf melodies to ho-dads and grimmy's in Oregon and
beyond. These lads have a true love for today's surf music and a
respect for their surfin' forefathers that have influenced their unique
sound... a time capsule from yesterday that some how seems right for
today.
We were going to be The Verbtones for Halloween. We couldn't find striped shirts like you guys have. Jason was going to wear a bald cap to be Steve and Eric was going to wear a black dress to be Marie. It was going to be awesome. We were going to have suits on top and take them off right before we went on stage to surprise you guys.
We had an amazing halloween costume idea. But it looks like several of the guys aren't enthusiastic enough to pull it off. Oh well... Thus is the disease of the 'Verb.
