Il mio nome è Andrea Vercesi sono nato nel 1975 e vengo da Broni in provincia di Pavia (Nord Italia). Sono musicista polistrumentista sostanzialmente autodidatta. I miei strumenti principali sono la voce :-) e la chitarra in particolar modo la chitarra acustica. Suono anche la chitarra elettrica, il basso, il mandolino, il flauto traverso, le tastiere, la batteria e le percussioni.
Oltre a proporre brani da me composti mi presento come Jethro-Tull-One-Man-Cover-Band (www.andreavercesi.com) e come chitarrista acustico/mandolinista/corista dei Beggar's Farm (la cover-band ufficiale Italiana dei Jethro Tull www.myspace.com/beggarsfarmband).
Ho iniziato ad amare l'universo musicale all'età di 5 anni e sono stato influenzato dalla musica internazionale degli anni '60 ascoltata da mio Padre sui sui dischi a 45 ed a 33 giri (The Beatles,The Rolling Stones,The Animals, The Byrds,Herman Hermits,The Shadows, Duane Eddy,Elvis Presley,Ray Charles,ecc...).
Dai 12 ai 14 anni ho preso lezioni di pianoforte ed a 15 ho scoperto la chitarra acustica che ho imparato a suonare grazie al solo all'ausilio di un prontuario di accordi.
Le mie prime influenze musicali sono stati in particolare i Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix ed Eric Clapton ed in generale tutto il rock & hard-rock anni 70.
A 16 anni ho formato il mio primo gruppo-cover rock anni 70 (gli Entropia) come chitarrista elettrico.
Nel 1997 ho scoperto i Jethro Tull e la genialità di Ian Anderson.
Fino ai primi anni del 2000 ho suonato in vari gruppi di cover di musica Italiana ed Internazionale a livello locale.
Dopo un lungo periodo sabbatico e dopo 2 album auto-prodotti (pop-rock italiano) distribuiti solo all'interno della cerchia degli amici più stretti nel 2006 ho auto-prodotto due album tributo ai Jethro Tull ("Velvet Green" - A Little Tribute To Jethro Tull by Andrea Vercesi / "Songs From The Forum-With You There To Help Me" - The 2nd Litlle Tribute To Jethro Tull by Andrea Vercesi). I cd richiesti via mail un po' in tutto il mondo (Norvegia, Finlandia, Brasile, Svizzera, Spagna, Stati Uniti, Germania, Cile, Regno Unito e Canada) sono stati recensiti con successo sul sito ufficiale del Fans Club Italiano dei Jethro Tull www.itullians.com e su altri siti collegati ai Jethro Tull (www.collecting-tull.com by Dag Sandbu e http://koti.welho.com/crundman/page6.html by Karl-Cristian Rundman).
Nel settembre del 2006 ho partecipato all'XI Convention Itullians a Novi Ligure come artista all'interno dello spazio acustico pomeridiano ospitando anche Giuseppe Scaravilli dei Malibran (conosciuto gruppo progressive italiano) e Guido Rossetti ex-bassista ed attuale cantante dei Mother Goose (cover-band piemontese dei Jethro Tull).
Dopo un breve periodo, Franco Taulino leader dei Beggar's Farm mi ha voluto all'interno del suo gruppo come chitarrista acustico e corista. Nel Dicembre del 2006 ho suonato con i Beggar's Farm insieme a Bernardo Lanzetti (artista italiano e ex-cantante della P.F.M.). Dal Maggio del 2007 ho suonato con i Beggar's Farm insieme a Bernardo Lanzetti ed insieme a Clive Bunker (storico batterista dei Jethro Tull dal 1968 al 1971).
Nel 2007 ho realizzato il mio primo album di Folk-rock acustico "Surrounded By Music" con la collaborazione di Cristina Pierini autrice della maggior parte dei testi.
Nel 2008 continua l'avventura nei Beggar's Farm con una serie di concerti con Clive Bunker (compreso un "mini-tour" Pasquale) e con Bernardo Lanzetti. Nello stesso anno insieme ai Beggar's Farm ho suonato (in un "mini-tour" estivo con Jonathan Noyce (ex-bassista dei Jethro Tull) e con Bernardo Lanzetti. Previsto un "mini-tour" invernale ancora con Clive Bunker e Bernardo Lanzetti.
Il 18 Ottobre 2008 ad Alessandria (Piemonte-Italia) ho partecipato alla Convention Itullians per il 40ennale dei Jethro Tull come membro dei Beggar's Farm insieme a Jonathan Noyce, David Goodier (attuale bassista dei Jethro Tull), Gerry Conway (ex batterista dei Jethro Tull), Dave Pegg (ex bassista dei Jethro Tull) ed ho avuto l'onore di suonare il mandolino (sempre come membro dei Beggar's Farm) nel pezzo "Weathercock" (dall'album "Heavy Horses" eseguito integralmente dai Beggar's Farm) insieme a Mr. Ian Anderson.

From 12 to 14 years I studied piano and at the age of 15 I discovered the acoustic guitar that I learnt to play with the only help of my chord booklet.

At 16 I formed my first rock cover-band (The Entropia) as electric guitarist.
In 1997 I discovered Jethro Tull and Ian Anderson genius.
I played Italian and international music in several cover band until the first years of 2000 on local bases.
After a long sabbatical leave and after 2 self-produced albums (italian pop-rock) distributed just among the closest friends, in 2006 I also self-produced 2 Jethro Tull tributes ("Velvet Green" - A Little Tribute To Jethro Tull by Andrea Vercesi / "Songs From The Forum-With You There To Help Me" - The 2nd Litlle Tribute To Jethro Tull by Andrea Vercesi). The cds were ordered via e-mail all over the world (Norway, Finland, Brasil, Switzerland, Spain, U.S.A., Germany, Chile, U.K. and Canada) and they had positive reviews on the official website of itullians fans club www.itullians.com and on other tull-dedicated websites (www.collecting-tull.com by Dag Sandbu and http://koti.welho.com/crundman/page6.html by Karl-Cristian Rundman).
In September 2006 I took part in XI Itullians Convention as artist in the acoustic afternoon stage with special guests as Giuseppe Scaravilli from "Malibran" (italian progressive band) and Guido Rossetti former-bass player and now singer of "Mother Goose" (Jethro Tull cover band).
After a short period, Franco Taulino Beggar's Farm leader recruited me in his band as acoustic guitarist and chorus singer. In December 2006 I played with Beggar's Farm hosting Bernardo Lanzetti (famous italian artist and P.F.M. ex-singer). Since May 2007 I played with Beggar's Farm hosting Bernardo Lanzetti and also hosting Clive Bunker (historical former-drummer of Jethro Tull from 1968 to 1971).
In 2007 I released my first solo acoustic album of Folk-Rock songs "Surrounded By Music" with the collaboration of Cristina Pierini co-writer of most of the lyrics.
In 2008 the adventure with Beggar's farm is going on, with a series of dates together with Clive Bunker (a mini tour during Easter holidays included) and with Bernardo Lanzetti. In the same year, as member of Beggar's Farm, I played (in a summer "mini-tour") with Jonathan Noyce (ex-bass player of Jethro Tull) and with Bernardo Lanzetti. Scheduled another winter "mini-tour" again with Clive Bunker and Bernardo Lanzetti.
The 18th of October, 2008 in Alessandria (Piemonte-Italy) I engaged Itullians Convention 40th Year Anniversary of Jethro Tull as Beggar's Farm member with Jonathan Noyce, David Goodier (present Jethro Tull bass player), Gerry Conway (ex Jethro Tull drummer) and I had the honour and entire satisfaction to play mandolin (always as Beggar's Farm member) in "Weathercock" (a song from "Heavy Horses" Jethro Tull album in this occasion entirely performed by Beggar's Farm) together with Mr. Ian Anderson himself.
