The winner of Showdown 2007 will open up the main stage at Rock 'n' Blues by the Lake in Novato for Sammy Hagar and The Bacon Brothers Band! (and of course there's the thousands of dollars in prizes...)
VERGE SHOWDOWN 2007 is the biggest and, dare we say, best Battle of the Bands event for bands in the San Francisco Bay Area. We'll be accepting demos and applications through mid-April, and then we'll pick 24 of the best bands to face off across three shows in the first round. Twelve of those bands will move on to the semifinals, and then six bands move on to the finals. The winners will receive a combined $15,000 in prizes and will play the Rock and Blues By the Lake music festival in Novato at Stafford Lake, which has reached attendence in the thousands in past years.
