...to my music haven't been so much in writing style and sound but in how and maybe why music has been a pursuit of mine. That having been said, these folks have played a part: Jimmy Buffet, Ian Tyson, Neil Young, James Taylor, Brian Wilson, John Fogerty, Dan Fogelberg, Hoyt Axton, Emitt Rhodes, John Prine, Phil Ochs, Joni Mitchell, Lennon, McCartney, my friends Roby LaPorte and B Fisher and a whole raft of other singer-songwriters.
I've been making music since the age of 15 playing drums in a band in Torrance, CA. Inspired by folk-rock and singer songwriters I began writing my own creations in high school.
I served in the Army in '69-'70. After being discharged I moved around a bit: Idaho, Utah, Washington, California and presently New Mexico. I've worked ranches, farms, forestry and mechanics.
I also operated a music store in NC Washington, gave guitar and autoharp lessons, performed in various bands and as an acoustic act.

Vern: Thanks for the add. I have family near Santa Fe, and hope to visit them soon, and hope to meet you. Thanks for the uptempo comment about my co-written songs...I always put my co-writers first even if they are recognized pro-writers. I really love Northern New Mexico. There some song ideas floating around in my head about NM, when it's time I'll start what I call the Papa Hemmingway process...most of my songs are co-writes. Have a great day.
