Verns Pot O' Chili started as the brainchild of Ian Lutz and Neil
Jones at 2204 Donald Avenue in Huntington, WV. Starting as a trio, we found ourselves traveling back to our home town of Lewisburg, WV for all of our shows. The project slowly began to snowball and as luck would have it, the sound began to spread. Our hometown shows got a little crazier and our other gigs around West Virginia became less few and far between. We started to make a lot of new friends, especially in other local bands. (As it would go anywhere.) We've had some great times playing and definitely give props to all those who have shared stages with us. You know who you are!!! This band has had some kinks to work out over the years, we won't
mention any names. The line-up has changed, but we are now playing better and feeling better about playing than we ever have in our nearly five years of steady gigging. Ingredients in the chili include:
3 cups NEIL JONES: accoustic guitar, vocals
3 cans IAN LUTZ: drums, vocals
1 chopped DAN FREEMAN: bass, vocals
2 diced J. LEE COLLINS: keys, congas
1 1/2 tablespoons ZAK WALL: saxophone
pinch of JASON JOHANS: harmonica, ukulele, vocals
This band is named for Vernon Carl Jones. A good man, great freind,
and of course, master of the crock pot. He is responsible for Neils deep
respect for music, without which a lot of our songs would not have been
written. Looking back now, it is clear that Vernon had some hand in making
sure that Ian and Neil found a way to play music together and eventually
share the stage with some of the greatest people and musicians that West
Virginia has to offer. Rest in peace, Vern.

.. Hi there Vern's Pot O' Chili first of all we'd like to say thanks for being our myspace pal. We wanted to make sure you knew the reason incase we suddenly vanish off of your friends list. The movement we've started for indie artists has grown significantly and consumes all of our time these days. We seldom sign into our myspace account and this is making several people believe that we are ignoring them. We are not ignoring anyone, we wanted everyone to know that. What we're doing has become so busy we just don't have the time for myspace any longer, so in all honesty we are probably going to just close our myspace account.
Many people wanted to use us in the future so if you were one of those people make sure you bookmark the link below so that in the event that we do close our myspace account you won't lose contact with us. I wish you the best of luck in your music career. Thanks again for being our myspace pal.
Hey guys, I don't think I'm goping to make our reunion this year. I'd love to see you, but I've come down with anal glaucoma. I just don't see my ass making it back to WV for a while!
Alright gentlemen...I know I missed the show in Jan...but that is no reason to punish everyone else. So come back to the ville soon and kick ass and I will come to the show.
PS: The Yetti has been rockin...if Cantells's had a floor like Songer it would have been crushed by now!!
