The one thing I'm passionate about is literature. I feel that reading good books is so important in any person's life in order to be a well-rounded individual. Aside from that, I like to sing and am generally praised for my singing voice. Among instruments I'm a jack of all trades and master of none (I dabble in keyboard, bass guitar and saxophone). I like to draw, and mostly produce manga (eastern comics and graphic novels)-style art, but lately I've been doing some other stuff. I write but I'm not very prolific: I suck at writing short stories, the result of which is lots of unfinished novels in my notebooks and hard drive ^^;
Music
Music can be just about anything with the exceptions of country and adult contemporary. I just got a new copy of the Beatles' One Album for Christmas, so I'll be listening to that a lot. My favorite band right now is My Chemical Romance. They're a really talented group of guys and I love their sound. Red Hot Chili Peppers will always be one of my favorite bands of all time; they have yet to make an album that seems, to me, to be not as good as their last.
Movies
I like a variety of movies, although I generally don't like chick-flicks and only a select few action movies. I love horror movies, especially asian horror movies. For whatever reason, asians make some messed-up horror movies. Among my favorite films are Donnie Darko, Better Off Dead, Napoleon Dynamite, The Breakfast Club, and V for Vendetta.
Television
The only shows I really watch are murder-mystery type shows like CSI, Law and Order, and criminal minds and all those Court TV shows like Forensic Files, Body of Evidence,etc. Ghost Hunters, of course, but that's the only show on Sci-Fi I watch.
Books
My favorite modern authors are Crichton and King. I know, most people think that they're whores for Hollywood anymore, but I still like them. The last few books I've read have been Stephen King's short story anthologies. If you've read Good Omens and love it, you rock.
Heroes
Heroes... wow, that's a tough one. Well, when I was learning bass I totally idolized Sting and Flea. The first songs I learned were all songs by The Police ^^; Dali is definitely an inspiration because of the quality, depth, and variety in his artwork. As far as real people go, I'd say my grandfather was the biggest hero in my life. One time in school I was asked to think of who in my life was most like a saint, and I immediately thought of him. My grandfather used to make me orange juice. I don't mean he poured it out of a carton for me, I mean he got out an old fashioned orange juicer (ya know, the thing with the cone that you squish the orange on?) and squeezed the juice out of oranges for me. That's love, people. ^^

About me: I could talk about myself all day if you'd let me, because I'm such an egomaniac, but I'll try and be concise here. I like to think of myself as an intelligent and educated person and I've been told I can be condescending, even though I never really seem to realize I'm doing it. What can I say? I can't help correcting people when I'm reasonably certain they're wrong about something. Not to mock them or point out their flaws, but to help them because I don't want them saying it in front of someone else and getting thought stupid. Anyway, I digress. I have a variety of talents- that is to say, things I can do that I'm generally praised for. Drawing, painting, writing, singing and public speaking are all things I've been told I'm quite good at. Also, I seem to have a knack for language, whether it's understanding the mechanics of my own or learning another. I most definitely have a sense of humor, though not everyone can really understand it. Truly, all I've ever wanted in life was to be understood. I feel people misunderstand me far too often; they see me as cold or unfeeling, when truly I am a very caring and devoted person. I guess I'm just not very good at showing it.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone who thinks I sound like someone they could have a good time with. I tend to like people I can have long conversations with about a lot of different topics, so if that doesn't seem like you, I'm not sure we'd mesh well. If you have a lot of interests in common with me, that's definitely a plus but not a requirement.
