About me: I am a writer, poet, performer,a father, a friend and a man who strives to improve myself in every way.
The road's been long and hard. The lessons learned from my numerous mistakes has allowed me to rise above adversity often enough to find myself in an amazing, incredibly fulfilling and peaceful place in my life.
I spent ten years counseling people and the last six years attempting to convince the courts to grant inmates, whose crimes are addiction driven, a treatment alternative to incarceration.
Once my counseling career had ended I decided that through writing, I could continue to touch people's lives but in a different way. I did so initially by writing newspaper and news letter articles. About three years ago I was drawn to poetry and I haven't stopped since.
I have recited, sung and performed my poetry on numerous occasions @Touchstone Theater in Bethlehem, PA., Lehigh University,Panoramic Poetry (A venue produced jointly by October Galleries & Chaney University in Philadelphia and The International African American Art Expo@ Temple University. WHAT"S NEXT? By the end of June I will have performed in at least one or possibly two of the top poetry venues in Manhattan! (:

King Arthur… Freedom
I have just finished seeing one of my favorite movies tonight. “King Arthur Directors Cut.” Amazing legend! A great story as are all great stories about putting higher ideals first... in spite of all the odds.
So deep in thought that is deeper… it is love, that small amber that burns deep inside all humans, that in spite of fear (Arthur) decides to listen to a higher cause and put love first.
One particular scene where Sir Lancelot is trying to persuade him to run; "save your life while you can"… Arthur responds back if you are my friend you of all else who knows me. That everything I have done. All the blood I have shed has led me to this moment.
At the end… a silent call was heard as all true spiritual callings go and one by one they came to fight on his side.
Such an emotional and dramatic movie about facing incredible odds in the battlefield, it takes courage, to stand alone but Arthur as the legend goes… “All men and women have free will to choose a greater cause… Freedom.”
Near the riddle of great water, your words made me sail with happiness... Thank you for the wonderful comments loved poet Bruce Walters. As I wish a time in all stars full of drawn skies and my journey endless. ;)
A dog, a cat, and a penis are sitting around the campfire one nite. The dog says, "My life sucks, my master makes me do my business on a fire hydrant!" The cat says, " I don't think so, my master makes me do my business in a box of cat litter."
The penis outraged says, " At least your master does'nt put a bag over your head and make you do push ups until you throw up!!!!!!!"
A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife. She directs him down the correct aisle. A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife? He answers, "You see, it's like this. Yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; 'cause it's sooooooooooo much cheaper. So, I figure if I have to roll my own . . . so does she"
Sorry.....I lost touch with her....we both changed our numbers too often & she was notorious for losing her phone soooo.....plus she should be married to her other half by now!!! They were quite serious!!!
Hi Bruce! :) How are you doing today? I hope good. If you get a chance, please come by and read my blog about the list from Homeland security that makes us all terrorists.
It is important to remember that because of the Patriot Act if they list us as a threat to national security they can invade our private emails and listen in on our private calls, as well as invade our home without even a search warrant.
Please support this blog by commenting and answering, it is really important people hear the truth about this!
