Influences
Vertigo are influenced by a wide range of musical genres including classic/contemporary rock, pop, blues, soul and funk. We play a wide range of material, currently covering some 70 plus songs, and will attempt anything that takes our fancy. At the moment we are listening to material as diverse as the Bodyrockers and Santana. Our aim is to play songs that might interest our audiences on the night so have a look at the gig list and come and find out. You never know we might cover your favourite song.
Sounds Like
We sound like ourselves. This may sound pretentious but Vertigo do not want to sound like the CD and so we often put our own spin/style on the songs we play. We try different approaches and styles (sometimes on the night!!) but make sure the song is still highly recognizable. Even cover bands can have their own sound and the songs are still evolving. We are currently working on our own original material to appear soon in the song list.
Vertigo formed in early 2007. Vicky, an established solo singer, joined the existing trio of Mark, Martin and Paul (who had recently let go of another singer after a less than successful Christmas gig). It was clear from the start that we would quickly get up to speed and our first gig was a mere 8 weeks after forming. We have played roughly a couple of times a month ever since and now have a core set of venues we play regularly. See our gig list for more details or contact the band at vertigo@sky.com to make a booking.<
