"I thought I would have to teach my daughter about the world, turns out I have to teach the world about my daughter. They see a girl who doesn't speak, I see a
miracle who doesn't need words."
I love computers. I love fixing them, building them, being on them...I'm a very curious person, if I don't know how to do, or don't understand -- I'll go crazy learning it, finding things out. I'm the weirdo that runs to the computer to check if something I saw on TV is true... When I get the chance, I love a good old fashioned road trip, I have been many places in these last couple of years. My ultimate goal is to drive thru all 48 continental states in MY car. I watch NASCAR religiously, GOOOOOO Junior! My guy is a Harvick fan, so that creates a little tension in the household, but it's all fun and games :)
Music
I am into pretty much all kinds of music. Not so fond of certain rap, but anything else goes. I'm a huge fan of the 70's, that is usually what's in my car (if Ed lets me listen to them more often!) The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Styx.. absolute favorite is REO SPEEDWAGON.
Movies
The "Band of Brothers" series, which is really phenomenal. But, I like a little bit of everything- must have comedy or else I'll lose my mind. I love romantics, but I hate admitting it. So lets keep it between you, me, and cyberspace.... ok?
Television
My favorite show is House, M.D. I also love The Family Guy, Law and Order SVU, M*A*S*H, Scrubs... everyone needs a little humor. I'm also very political, I either watch CNN every morning or go online to read the news. Daily Show with John Stewart and the Colbert Report. Can't forget Discovery Health, The TLC Channel, National Geographic and anything else that's interesting...I've seen all the Mythbusters shows. Science rules.
And, of course....
Books
I'm into the classics... Les Miserables, A Tale of Two Cities, The Great Gatsby, and I love Robert Frosts' poetry. Early 20th century poetry is my favorite, and of course, Shakespeare. But, when you're a mother of 4... who has TIME to read?? Most of what I get to read anymore is on the internet.
I created photo albums here on Myspace for all of my kids,
so be sure to check them out!
I have now four wonderful children, Matthew-7, Samantha-4, Andrea-2, and the newly arrived Bethany! They are the loves of my life. We own a home in the southern Adirondacks, lots of work to be done! Ed started driving milk tankers, so we see daddy much more often... (Still could use more help around here *wink*wink*) We do our best with what we have.
Our little girl Andrea was diagnosed with Angelman Syndrome at 8 1/2 months old... so our life is very busy with that little girl! She was the star of her own episode of Mystery Diagnosis on the Discovery Health Channel, check it out!
I'm not on here to meet new people, or have hundreds of friends I don't know. So don't bother me if I don't know you.
Oh, by the way... DALE EARNHARDT JUNIOR ROCKS.
There's really not much to tell about myself. Dale Junior fan, obviously. And nothing beats a great pair of pajamas, or a quiet peaceful house at the end of the day. The smell of clean laundry is wonderful, or being able to sit down and relax knowing all your work is done (looking forward to that day...) I'm quite greedy, I can't live without a hug or a kiss, especially going over a year without them. The color pink is the equivalent to nails on a chalkboard to me. I love to cook, hate to bake. Coffee. Enough said. I get overly excited about the small things in life - figuring out the perfect present for someone, or being able to sleep in beyond 8AM (rare. very rare.) I can't go anywhere without sunglasses, it's the top of my "must have" list. I hate shoes and socks. Give me flip flops or give me death. I don't do "pretty", I can barely apply chapstick. No, I don't know my real hair color, most people don't. What do I want to do with my life? I'm sure you can't answer that question for yourself, so don't expect me to. I try not to take advantage of anything, or have regrets. Unfortunately, you only find you regret something when it's too late to change it. Although I've taken an "odd" path in my life, I love the fact that I, myself, chose it. I love my children, and there might be things that could be "tweaked" in my household... it's hectic, it keeps me on my toes, and no day is the same as the one before. Nothing is more precious than that.
Who I'd like to meet:
Food For Thought...?
Children are the living messages we send,
To a time we will not see.
Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely.
Attitude is the difference between an adventure and ordeal.
Two roads diverged in yellow wood, and I - took the one less traveled by...
And that has made ALL the difference. ~Robert Frost
Common sense in an uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
