Here are some kind words from reviewers about the movies:

About THE TEMPTRESS:

" This movie was put together very well. Especially for a low budget independent company. "
- Vamps Carnival Of Chaos

"The Temptress" is a low budget film that offers up a campy vibe, an interesting story, and the promise that it will never bore you. ...I was especially impressed with the ending of the film."
- The Bloody Good Horror Page

" An exceptional job by Kirkendall bringing us yet another top quality goth-like flick. Surrounded by excellent acting and a good solid story... ...THE TEMPTRESS is one to see. "
- Unspeakable Magazine

About THE EDGE OF REALITY:

About the "Dead Man" segment: " I really liked this one. The setting was perfect, the actors did their jobs competently and the special effects, while minimal were very well done... Use what you have on hand, and make it look right and work. In DEAD MAN, Director Joe Bagnardi did just that. "
- PenguinComics.net

" THE EDGE OF REALITY gives us just what we've been lacking since they quit making the Twilight Zone episodes... ...better than one would expect with the sound quality good and a great picture. But that has a lot to do with the nice editing job of Kirkendall. THE EDGE OF REALITY is a must see for any fan of old Twilight Zone or Night Gallery episodes. All around, an excellent flick for the horror genre. "
- Unspeakable Magazine

" The directing and writing of the stories were great. The directing was sharp and it showed through the style of shots and camera angles used. "
- The Horror Review

About THE DROWNED:

" THE DROWNED is a very low-budget movie but one that’s done right. "
- Buried.com

" I feel this film was a pretty decent effort by the parties involved." "The story itself had a smart sense of subject matter... "
- HorrorNews.net

About me:

Jeff Kirkendall - Very Scary Productions

I'm an independent digital filmmaker & actor residing in the Upstate New York Area. I've written, produced and directed several movies, both features and shorts, primarily in the horror film genre.
Visit Very Scary Productions or scroll down the page for more information on my movies. And you can view the movie trailers below on this page, or visit the Very Scary Productions Movie Trailers Page, where they can also be viewed using Windows Media Player.

From my Filmmaker Biography:

Jeff Kirkendall has been passionately involved in making and promoting independent movies since 1996, and since that time has written, produced & directed six movies, two of them being features. His most recent feature was the action/horror movie THE TEMPTRESS, and his most recent short film was the comedy OF THEATRE & BIKINIS, both produced entirely in the Capital Region of Upstate New York utilizing local talent. In addition to his own directorial projects, Jeff has served as Associate Producer & Editor on movies produced by other area filmmakers, including the features THE EDGE OF REALITY, LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT and Bruce G. Hallenbeck's THE DROWNED. Jeff was also featured in the independent documentary EVERY PIXEL TELLS A STORY from Times Union writer Peter Hanson, which includes interviews with several leading Capital Region filmmakers shooting in the groundbreaking digital video format. Additionally, he has been involved in promoting area filmmaking for many years by organizing events such as 1999's Area Filmmakers Fantastic Film Festival and 2003's Shocktoberfest, both held at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Jeff was a featured filmmaker at the 2005 Dead of Winter Free Film Festival and the 2006 Independent Film Festival, both held at the New York State Museum in Albany, NY. These events received extensive media coverage in publications such as The Gazette, Metroland and the Times Union newspapers, among others, and television stations such as Capital News 9. Jeff has also hosted independent film screenings at the Historic Madison Theater in Albany, New York, including the successful 2007 Night Of B-Movie Indies show held in November of that year. In 2009 Jeff's horror short THE GREEN-EYED MONSTER was shown as part of the It Came From Schenectady Film Festival Series at Proctors Theater in Schenectady, NY. On the acting front Mr. Kirkendall has appeared in many independent movies including SHADOW TRACKER: VAMPIRE HUNTER, THE EDGE OF REALITY, BLOODLUST, THE DROWNED and CORRUPTION, among others, as well as many of his own directorial projects. For 2009 Jeff is working on a horror anthology feature tentatively titled DIE LAUGHING. More information about Jeff Kirkendall can be found on his Filmmaker Biography Page

Here are some memorable quotes and kind words I've received from others:

"I consider him to be a significant figure in the horror genre, on the regional basis at least, and probably on the national level too." - Mary Alice Molgard, Professor of Communications at The College of Saint Rose

“There’s something of the Ed Wood about Jeff Kirkendall ..."
- From the Blogosphere

" Jeff Kirkendall continues his trend of spinning gothic tales of bloodlust, secrets and vampiric confrontation in this, his worthy, second feature film. The dedication behind The Temptress is amazing. We look forward to seeing what Very Scary Productions produces next. "
~ The Masucci Brothers, Fountainhead Pictures

Movies I've worked on with other production companies:

THE EDGE OF REALITY - A Horror Anthology Feature from JB Productions

THE EDGE OF REALITY is comprised of three horror tales, and was inspired by TV shows like The Twilight Zone, Night Gallery, Thriller, The Outer Limits, Tales from the Darkside and Tales from the Crypt. The stories are: "Dead Man", based on a short story in the tradition of Edgar Allen Poe's The Tell-Tale Heart. It's about a dead man who won't rest until he exposes his killer. The second story "The Maze" is about a man who faces his own worst enemy... himself! The third story - where this clip is taken from - called "The Quarry", is based on a true story written by President Theodore Roosevelt. It's about an encounter with Bigfoot as told to the president by an old mountain man. In this tale two men on a camping trip come face to face with the legendary Bigfoot in the Adirondacks of Northern New York.
Movie Running Time: Approximately 78 minutes
Produced & Directed by Joe Bagnardi
Associate Producer & Editor: Jeff Kirkendall

THE DROWNED - A Horror Feature from Pagan Film Productions
