have you enjoyed a good book lately? poetry to a beat with layers of real instruments, lap steel pedal steel saxophone trumpet harmonica bass drums banjo fiddle piano ect.... raw lofi gems about reality or a strange painting i'm explaining to you.
what started as a pastime to relax away from metal and punk riffin duties in other projects, turned out to be something done for the pure joy of it and you can hear it in the tracks. trying to keep the storyteller art form alive ala jonny cash or dylan. the perfect players to round out this project just kind of showed up everything compliments everything and it sounds like music did before all the pro tools and pitch correctors and digital drums replaced real musiscians.........
You're right! I was just listening again to the 3 songs you snuck me at our last show... and I just love them! Seriously... I sing along, it's really quality songwriting. What's the name of the first track (...was a man very paranoid paranoid bout the government....)? I'm putting it on a mix tape I'm making for a few of my closest friends.
How is the recording coming?
We have a couple shows lined up, for Sept but nothing further than that yet. When and where are you thinking? We'll open for you.
I'm hitting the road in a couple of weeks to raise money for War Child, Coast-to-coast – 50 cities – ALL PROCEEDS TO WARCHILD. Why? 66% of all war victims are CHILDREN. Shocked like me? War Child helps these children that have been affected by war. Check out the new blog – the whole story is up there. Love to have you be a part of it.
You’ll find a Blog, Tour page and a Bio page. I’ll be blogging daily from the road.
Hey, you guys were awesome on Friday! And thanks for the three tunes... I'm looking forward to the album release. Veszel is now situated nicely between Velvet Underground and Violent Femmes in my music collection.
I also got some Elliott Brood ticks, but that's not until October. I'll see you before then.
Your voice is fucking ace! On the lesbian song it reminds me of Bob Dylan man it's fantastic! You have a lot of instruments in your songs do you play most of them or do you use studio musicians?
