It's a good record, but it didn't impress me as much as the EP. Other than the title track, the plain post-punk songs didn't do much for me; I've heard way better. Have you noticed the Drudkh-ish chord progression in some of the slower parts, by the way? :)
The standard version will be available at both Lithuanian black metal labels, I think. They're still going to be expensive, but still affordable. Limited edition releases, however, are almost always distributed only by the band's label, so...
Shit. For some reason myspace didn't bother to notify me about your comments, so sorry for the delay. Amesoeurs: http://www.mediafire.com/?fqlmndjlyuk And yeah, I'm sure they're calling it quits. At least there's a new Alcest album coming out this year. ;)
It is fucking tempting indeed but I'll pass on this one. The price including 17% VAT tax and shipping seems a bit too much for me.
Their music is indeed quite amazing. I can't understand how they're not among the biggest post-rock bands.
I could actually make decent money if everybody would pay me at least $1 for a recommendation, heheh. I have plenty more of great music, by the way, so just let me know if you feel like listening to some good new stuff. ;)
Definitely, many black metal acts have been borrowing some ideas from post-rock, and it seems it works well more often than not. Same goes for shoegaze and post-punk.
Also, try Laura - The Radio Swan is Down: http://www. megaupload. com/?d=WBE6RLCL Very overlooked Australian post-rock band. I thin I've mentioned them to you before but you never said if you liked them.
I think of the EP as a trailer for Black Cascade, and a pretty promising one for that matter. Would love to hear something akin to A Looming Resonance in the future. So, any impressions about that Mono album?
Yeah, I saw a report on the news, that's some downright scary stuff. Must be rather tense times for you. Luckily, I've never experienced a natural disaster in my entire life. I believe Lithuania is one of the cosiest places in that regard.
bonjour mes garcon! im currently watching into the wild, it is fantastic, i love it how he is so thorough even burning his money! although when he sloshes through the snow it makes me feel cold lol ;P
I can't stand the standard stuff anymore as well, it's just plain boring. Good thing that there's a lot of interesting releases coming out this year. New Wolves in the Throne Room, Solstafir, and Blut Aus Nord works are very solid. Heard any of them?
I remember checking them out along with some other Quebec based projects like Csejthe and Ziel Bevrijd, which are pretty good. At least they're not one of pseudo-Satanist ass clowns.
By the way, do you like any post-rock? Probably the best choice for rock-based atmospheric music after black metal. Try this: http://rapidshare. com/files/194895175/M-HTTH. rar Let me know what you think of it. ;)
i think u r the first person to comment me saying "ey" :P yeah my rents were cool about it but they thought it was a bit seedy that boys r sleeping over. but the partners r going to sleep too whos ur partner again? can u actually type up everyones partners so i can c whos coming? please lol
i thought it best to delete the shittest unicorn cos it was a bit weird and i thought that the people of myspace might want to no a bit about my real personality.
that was so beautiful! i actually read an article about polar bears and their playful sides a few months ago! its weird that they are seen as so dangerous yet they play with dogs without causing them harm. hows ur w/e going? lol i just discussing with my parents the career possibilites that the career consellor outlined for me. quite amusing :P
Yeah, I don't even think that any other genre could rival black metal in this regard. It's astounding how many retards, posers, elitists and narrow-minded fucks in general this genre attracts/produces.
