This Spring I'm going to find a place to live in Seattle. I'm leaving my beloved Olympic Peninsula home for the Big Emerald City for at least a couple of years. I have Champagne tastes, but sadly, only a beer budget. I'm looking for a real sweetheart deal--an apartment, house share, or house sit. I'm resorting to any means possible to put the word out.
I like Phinney Ridge and Madison Valley, but anywhere close in would be good. As long as it's clean, and quiet.
So on the long shot that anyone out there in MySpaceLand has an idea for me on a quiet, clean, and incredibly inexpensive deal, I'm throwing my need out into cyberspace. After all, MySpace gets 12 million hits a day, so they say.
By the way, I'm a considerate, fun, nice guy. That's what my girlfriend tells me. (She sometimes says a few other things which I won't repeat.)

Who I'd like to meet: I'm an old fugly dude by myspace generation standards (having arrived about 10 years early for the "social web"), and I exist in a blissful relationship with a warm and loving girlfriend, so I'm not looking for that, either. She is just out of grad school and has a new job several hours away, so I'll see her on weekends while I'm in Seattle. I guess I have to make that crystal clear, because after only a few hours on myspace I'd already started getting emails from lonelyhearts, or lonelyheart scammers more likely.
I'm looking at career and possibly school moves, and this is another avenue to network. I kinda take to it naturally, being impulsive and easily distracted as I am. In fact the internet is a dangerous place for me--I'm hooked on the NY Times online, I got the blog and the Second Life. Yet few of my real life friends share my...well ok, compulsion. I'm acting age-inappropriately, I realize. A lot of it is just sparkle, just junk food.
