My husband and I just returned home from Rio de Janeiro (his 4th visit, my 3rd), with Vicente as our tour guide... incredible! He introduced us to Rio in 2003. After discussing our interests, off we went to the most amazing beaches and forests, as well as restaurants and clubs, and yes, a few tourist places too. Our subsequent visits (in 2004, 2005, and 2006), focused on the Carioca life and culture of Rio de Janeiro; and that was most appealing to us. We went to Lapa to the samba clubs where we heard some of the best live music I've ever heard; and intermingled with the warm and friendly Brazilian people, young and older. The people are wonderful; good natured, fun-spirited, no weird vibe at all. We also went to some amazing restaurants; delicious food at very reasonable prices. Vicente is a real gem. He's warm, funny, intelligent. He knows all aspects of Brazilian culture; its history, music, food, and places of attraction. He has a great sense of humor, and loves to pass on his knowledge of the wonderful Brazilian culture. He's the real deal; you're going to love him!-

Our trip would not have been the same without Vicente. not only did he
completely look after us in Rio, but he helped set up the rest of our trip
as well, getting us internal flights to other regions of brazil and picking
out some fantastic accommodations for us. We had an excellent time wherever
we went in Brazil and we thank VIcente for his role in that. During our
week in Rio, Vincente was far more than a tourguide, he was our best friend
and greatest resource. I couldn't reach Tanya by phone, so VIcente tracked
her down in Canada for me. Tanya had to delay her arrival in Brazil, so
Vicente made alternativbe plans for her and picked her up at the airport,
and he found her even though i gave him the wrong instructions on which
terminal she would be arriving at! my bank card wouldn't work - so Vicente
fought with bank employees until I was helped. Tanya lost her luggage on
her trip and Vicente harrangued the airline employees until the luggage was
delivered. All of thes little emergencies would have been huge problems for
us if not for Vicente. And besides all that he showed us a great time and
kept us out of trouble. We enjoyed exposire to great food (i miss all that
meat!), great music, great local nightclubs off the beaten tourist path, and
the best sites of Rio. We had a wonderful time and we can't wait to get
back to Rio again to see our friend Vicente.
