   About Vic Galloway

I'm on the Radio every Monday 8.05 til 10pm BBC Radio Scotland and 12 Midnight til 2am Every Wednesday night / Thursday morning BBC Radio 1 - 'BBC Introducing in Scotland with Vic Galloway' - check out the cutting edge of new music from Scotland and beyond!

After buying a pile of Adam & The Ants records as a wee boy, I launched myself head-first into punk rock and new wave after witnessing my first live concert by The Damned in 1985, and as the obsession grew so did the record collection.

On leaving school, I immersed myself in rock'n'roll and all the trimmings! I formed a band, got into recording and performing music and also managed to busk my way around Europe for 6 months! I currently write, perform and produce music on my own, and will get some new stuff online at some point soon.

I've worked in the other side of the music industry - writing for fanzines, working as a venue lighting director in Edinburgh, helping to set up and develop independent labels, and working as press and radio promoter. My journey into Radio wasn't planned, so when prompted to make a tape for this new regional BBC Radio 1 show I obliged and to my surprise, got the job... That was over 10 years ago - phew! Check www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/vicgalloway and www.bbc.co.uk/introducing

I'm also lucky enough to do another new-music show on BBC Radio Scotland. This happens every Monday at 8.05pm. Check www.bbc.co.uk/vicgalloway

You'll occasionally see me on the TV too, as I've presented a series of 'The Music Show' and 4 different years of BBC coverage at 'T in the Park', as well as bits for Channel 4's 'Transmission' etc.

I also like to get out and DJ in other clubs and student unions across the UK and abroad when asked! If you want me to play in your place, please contact my agent, Andy Varley at Insanity Artists www.insanitygroup.com

To top it off, I do freelance work for papers, magazines and websites; and work as a Specialist Music Advisor for the Scottish Arts Council www.scottisharts.org.uk

I live in Edinburgh , like getting tattooed, eat spicy food and want World peace...

[S27-026] Nonima & theAudiologist - Almost Tomorrow
(Glitch, Ambient, Downtempo, IDM)

..
Click image to go to download page

Almost Tomorrow is the third full length collaboration album from Section 27 Netlabel founders Tam Ferrans and Andrew Paterson, under their Nonima & theAudiologist guise. This time around the sound is more melodic, and has a definite feeling of a complete and more mature sound than heard on the previous LP's "Dystopian Battle Hymns" and "Ceremony After Amputation". If you are familiar with their individual projects you may even be in for a slight surprise, as the tracks are not as beat driven like before, but are more atmospheric and sound, well... "bigger". In its 75 minutes, Almost Tomorrow takes you on a trip from the digital rain-soaked cavernous scraping in "Thoughtograph", the ethereal beat jittering of "The Colour of Rain", intercepted transmissions from unknown places in "Com-Intercept", "Ganzfeld"s huge yet strangely insect-like beats until everything you knew comes crashing around you in "Almost Tomorrow". Burning pianos, glitched out soundscapes and intricately programmed beatplay, this may well be their best work to date. Consider it the soundtrack to a rainy overcast day, but with just that glimmer of sunshine peeking from the clouds. "Almost Tomorrow" wears its heart on its sleeve.

Electropapknit are pleased to announce that we are back with a new club
night featuring amazing bands from Wednesday 4 November 2009!!!

As a new night in the now long gig history of Electropapknit shows, we thought we had to come up with an apt name that put across what we are about: great bands, cheap prices and bloody good times.

Therefore the new clubnight will be called Panda Panda Panda!

Based at the Glasgow School of Art, door entry with be £3 with cheap drink deals
on shots at £1, pints £1.50 and vodka mix £1.50. We are very excited about the first night in November as it features three of our favourite most excellent bands from Glasgow:

Vom - mind bending apocalypse space rock, with a nod to the lounge effect that might just melt you! This aggression won't stand, man!

The Ballad of Mable Wong - jangled up bloody alt fun, with progressive and decadent melodies released by sharp guitar crunch, Sexy!

Mr Peppermint - former Hyena megasexuals, with swooning noise vox and
tub thumping rhythms. Killer riffs on one side, masks in the other!
