Music is a gift to mankind and i enjoy it all from reggae, hip-hop, funk, soul, jazz, rock, Bhangra, world music. I especially love music that makes me dance, though there isn't much that doesn't. :>)

I am a soulful woman who loves life and discovering all it has to offer. I was born in Punjab India and spent the first twelve years of my life there. Now i live in San Francisco, a beautiful city, full of spirit that nurtures your creative energies, and a place where i feel so at home.
I have always LOVED to dance. Dancing makes me feel so blissful and happy as if every part of my being is connected to the earth. Dancing is the one time when i know, there's a divine purpose to life. But like most people, it was something i never thought of as my life's calling. We are so trained to keep a seperation between our work and true passions; most of us never realize that what we seek or desire might already be a part of us. All the universe needs is a sign that you are ready, ready to make that leap and everything else will find its way to you.
Well i finally took that leap and rest is still unfolding. The universe inspired me and my best friend and partner in crime, Suman to combine our love for the arts, culture, community, dance & music and give birth to an incredible community we call, Dholrhythms. its our heart and soul's expression.
Its a dream come true to be able to share my love of dance with others. I now teach bhangra dance classes all over the SF bay area in addition to performing with my dance troupe as well as hosting one of the most legendary monthly events in San Francisco, NonStop Bhangra
We have had the privilege of collaborating and performing with so many innovative and exceptional artists at some of the largest stages in San Francisco from the Legendary Stern Grove Festival where we opened up for the talented Anoushka Shankar to the Fillmore where we got to share the stage with the inspirational Michael Franti.
In addition to sharing creative energy with an amazing community of artists, i get to teach dance to the most diverse group of people, from second graders to seniors. Everyday i meet someone new, learn something new, dance with someone new, what could be better! It has been an amazing path that continues to inspire me on a daily basis. Though my passion is not the only thing that defines me, it adds tremendous joy and happiness to my life. No words could ever express the gratitude i feel for having the opportunity to do what i love. The rest continues to unfold with the divine guidance of the universe as i marvel in its beauty and magic.
