About me:
WOW FINALLY AT LAST I'M HERE!!!
Sorry for shouting everybody but I'm just really excited to be creating my own Myspace at last!
ANYWAY.......permit me to introduce myself!
My names Vicky Richardson and amongst many other bits and bobs that I do, I'm a presnter on ALLFM an independent community radio station in Manchester. You've probably read about us and a lot of my fellow presenters have their own pages on MYSPACE too...and I'm delighted to be joining them!
Anyway the show that I do is called NIGHT MOVES and its for insomniacs shift workers and musos everywhere
Its on Tuesday night-Wednesday morning from 1-3a.m.and I play everything from John Coltrane to Napalm death and all stations in betwen(actually I lied about Napalm Death).
All the music played on it is from my own collection and my guests(who also double up as security guards! bring in their own choice of choons on vinyl CD or minidisc
I have bands playing live in thestudio and on pre-recorded sessions and aso far these have included sessions from ROWETTA,TOM HINGLEY,THE UKELELE ORCHESTRA of GB AND HAYSEED DIXIE plus interviews with KIKI DEE,CARMEL and JOE AND SAM BROWN.PLUS a live session from THE STORYS!
In the past 12 months Ive also interviewed NEWTON FAULKNER MAGIC NUMBERS DERMOT O LEARY, STUART MACONIE ELKIE BROOKS
EDDI READER THE BLOCKHEADS PHIL JUPITUS SHAKATAK GO WEST HUE AND CRY KIM WILDE NICK HEYWARD TONY HADLEY KID CREOLE ,AMERICA, BILLY SWANN and JAMES BURTON
(who was ELVIS PRESLEYS guitarist from 1968-1977)
We also have lots of local bands coming in playing live and bringing their opwn fave tunes and these have ben a varies as Japanese Bluegrass Venezualan Reggae and Cypriot Hip-hop!
The musicians that play live in studio play everything from blues harmonica to new-age accordion! Bands have included BLUEBIRD KID CLARK ITS A BUFFALO GEORGE BOROWSKI HOLLY BURTON,DARREN POYZER CLAIRE MOONEY,LIAM GRUNDY
JIM KIRKPATRICK AND HEAVY WEATHER, OYSTER,NO FIXED ABODE ,IVAN CAMPO DONNA MARIE, RACHEL JAMES SR GENTS BARRY EATON ADE PAYNE
I've also done phone interviews with new artists from outside the UK and so far have spoken to bands and artists phoning me from France,Belgium Italy Spain,the US Canada Australia South Africa and Singapore!
On this site I hope to bring you samples of my shows and interviews and on another site you can hear the sessions!
