Victor Charlie was formed in the spring of 2001. Charlie, who had moved to Athens in 1998, was playing bass in The Fates but was also thinking of forming his own band and had already written some material. In February of 2001 Charlie met Mark Turiano. Mark was visiting his sister in Athens and thinking of relocating from Ohio. Unknown to Mark, Charlie had decided that he would be the drummer in his band if and when he moved to Athens.
As soon as Mark arrived in Athens he and Charlie began to work on some of the songs that Charlie had written. Around the same time The Fates disbanded and Charlie invited Fates guitarist Andrew Paolucci to take over bass duties in Victor Charlie. More songs were written and the first show was booked at Tasty World on August 13, 2002. The show went well. More material was written and the band played more shows in Athens and Atlanta.
In Spring 2003 Andrew, who also played guitar in Motorcade, evaporated. After a hiatus of several months the band recruited the highly talented multi-instrumentalist Justin Sanders to play bass. Since then the band has played a limited number of shows in the Southeast while continuing to write more material. A new album and tour of the Southeast are planned for the near future.
Whatever to all that . We are Back with a new bass player named Clay Hinson. In the ashes of Solar , our latest band with another frontman, we decided to get the forces together again as Victor Charlie. We have been sidetracked by getting old and being happy. So look out for new stuff.
