Victor DeLorenzo was engaged at SUNY Fredonia as an honored guest to take part in an inter-departmental event, addressing our Student Record Label, Copyright Class, Intro to Music Business and sound recording majors. Victor also participated in a recording session with a local artist, members of 10,000 Maniacs and music students at the SUNY Fredonia Recording Studio. Students from the Communications Department videotaped the session as well.

An artist as diversely talented as Mr. DeLorenzo provides a unique educational experience on multiple levels. His primary lecture included acting, career history and performance, embracing his complete artistry and challenging students in non-traditional instruction. Victor also provided one on one discussion with students during his two day engagement, presenting career guidance only available from his professional experiences.

I highly recommend Mr. DeLorenzo to speak in any capacity of his many talents and successful career to supplement customary classroom learning.

Victor’s lecture to students in the Jazz History & Appreciation class provided a unique and insightful look into the life and career of a very talented and professional musician. I've known Victor since the days when we were actors together in the Theatre X company here in Milwaukee. Considering the kind of performer Victor is and the style and thought he always brings to a specific performance, I knew that it would be wonderful to have him perform at a party I was organizing for the Gilbert and George exhibit here at the Milwaukee Art Museum.

Victor and company (Prestige Atlantic Impulse) not only provided music for the evening, but brought a class and sensibility that complimented the Art and the Evening perfectly! It was a pleasure to have him at the Museum.

Victor DeLorenzo has lectured in my History of Rock and Roll classes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Peck School of the Arts, Music Department; the class is in the area of Music History and Literature, and enrolls well over five hundred students a semester.

Mr. DeLorenzo spoke on the history of oral tradition music and how it impacts upon popular culture, and the students not only learned but were witness to a rare breed of presenter – one who has, indeed, impacted upon music as well as culture and who is articulate about both.

Victor DeLorenzo is a prominent figure and as such carries immense authority, true, but is also able to articulate within the context of a college course that which is pedagogically intact. It is not hard to be an inspiration, given DeLorenzo’s credentials, but it is difficult to be instructive, informative and decidedly linear as well, as is Mr. DeLorenzo. Teaching at the college level is something that Victor DeLorenzo accomplishes with ease and perfection.

There is seriousness, humor, proper academic deployment of fact, and an uncanny ability to communicate with precision while still keeping subject matter alive. Victor DeLorenzo lectures with the power of the important artist that he is, tempered by the educated scholar that he is as well, and the result is the perfect learning environment.

Mr. DeLorenzo is a speaker: There are few who can equal his ability as a lecturer, and fewer yet who are able to instruct with such valid objectivity and originality of inspiration equally combined.
