We like to keep the influences subtle, just let them flavor our sound.
Blazing art rock anthems enriched with interesting and unusual lyrical themes, The Victorians stand out from the crowd. Eclectic, the Victorians sound is sometimes driven, haunting, hypnotic but always catchy and tuneful as they throw sonic flash cards depicting sublime facets of the world around.
Born from the wreckage of many earilier musical vehicles, The Victorians are the culmination of a dedicated team of creative talent. Stephen Hobbs provides the driving guitar, David Morse lays down the pounding grooves and Chris Anderson plays drums with brutal finesse. Painting vocal styling atop the musical canvas is William Leighton.
Behind closed doors at their Victorians rehearsal studio, the process of musical fusion allows the troop to create its unique brand of rock anthem. No musical style or influence will go untried. Musical styles filter through the music; the taint of punk, lounge, garage, pop, folk and jazz subtly spicing the sound, giving the Victorians their individual flavour.
Lyrically the Victorians shift wildly from captivating aspects of the human condition, through the nebulous world of madness & dream to lyrical appreciations of technology & glib celebrations of banality. The Victorians have something to say.
