V7'S SONG 'MUSIC MAN' HAS BEEN SELECTED TO FEATURE IN THE NEW MOVIE 'RICKY' WITH A LIVE PERFORMANCE, THEATRICAL RELEASE IN 2010!! Staring Peter Donelly, and the beautiful Georgia Sinclair with appearances by David Cassidy, Cameron Daddo, Bobby Kimbal, Ron Jeremy, Richard Wilkins, Tottie Goldsmith, Victor Pender & V7's own Caroline Hawke in a major role! Stay tuned to this space for updates!
The sound is Billy Joel meets Robbie Williams meets Darren Hayes meets Frankie Valli meets Stevie Wonder.. sort of... lol! It's power pop rock that covers a number of genres and influences old and new. In itself it brings something new and fresh. Currently recording the 3rd album 'BE BLOWN AWAY'. Victor writes all the words and music. Dance Baby is the first track out there from that. It's upbeat and fun. It was No. 1 most requested on mp3.com.au. The sound is big, solid, American and commercial. If you have a quick listen on the RAW RIP player you'll find that every song is quite different on the 1st 2 albums, so it's hard to pigeon hole into a genre, and it's not getting any easier for the 3rd album while Vic explores his strange little world and articulates it in music.

Michael Jackson
I have so many feelings about what happened to MJ it's hard to know where to begin. I still haven't completely accepted he is actually gone. I think it has something to do with the fact that I thought he was indestructible and would somehow find a way to live forever. Michael nearly had this impervious persona, and all the criticism and attacks would be like water off a ducks back, but clearly it wasn't. He was extremely sensitive, and I bet he read every article written about him. It probably drove him crazy. Why do people with no talent love to bring down people who do? Why do people have to be so mean? I think it's because they have no other abilities or little else to offer. If they did, they would be doing that thing. They make themselves feel better by bringing others down, then justify it with meaningless, forgettable and unfounded social commentary, when they should really just go back on home, try to find meaning in their own lives and eat more deep fry. There were many people who presented many accusations against Michael, but none of it held up in a court of law. If it was possible it would have happened. There were many people who made it their life's mission to do just that. But after everything, it never happened. Michael prevailed, but the damage had been done.
Yes he was unusual but I don't believe he ever molested children. I believe he loved children and people generally in a wholesome way and liked to laugh and have fun. Even logically MJ had so many staff on hand 24/7 such acts as he was accused of would have been impossible. If there is no evidence, anything else is just hearsay. Michael was never ever convicted of a single crime even after all the 'so-called' evidence was presented. I really believe MJ was a victim of people taking advantage of him. The boy in question's parents had a history of taking advantage, like suing a shopping centre for a supposed injury which turned out to be a false claim and trying to get money. There is even an FBI recorded phone convo with the father detailing how he was going to maximise this opportunity and to co-erce his own son into saying what he needed him to say. It's just wrong. But these things create headlines and sell print media. It's like a hunter shooting a deer in a loungeroom with a machine gun. He was an easy target that attracted a lot of attention.
I think Michaels death could have been avoided. I will avoid retrospective rhetoric because it's pointless, but when will we ever learn? It's a real shame this lesson had to be learnt by killing off the world's greatest entertainer. He was truly great and you killed him. He's never coming back. Never. He's gone forever. Are you all happy now? He required extreme pain killer meds to mask his profound pain. Even in death writers' still call him 'jacko'. Headline chasing doesn't need to be deft of humanity. If they want a headline with fewer character letters than 'Michael Jackson' how about 'MJ'. It's not that hard. If it's possible to learn lessons from this, public writers need to think more about the affect they have on someone before going to print. The international media in general really weren't that kind to Michael. Then he died and everyone started acting all nice. Well it's to late now people and family members. Where was all the public support when he needed it most? Where were you then? Now here you all are getting all this residual attention and probably money, selling heaps of print and the publishing from Michael's back catalogue. Get what you want but I'll never forget the price that was paid. You are vultures and parasites of the worst kind in a way so profound I can only compare it to when bad people kill good people because they can. He's gone way to soon. Way to soon. It's completely a crime and I'll never get over it. Michael has inspired generations of music creators and lovers, and it will long be here after all his detractors and capitalists will be gone and forgotten. There may be a short term gain, but in the end you have will acheived nothing, will be profoundly forgotten, will never know greatness, and what it is to have soul.

What do you look for in a girl: conversation
"Victor's work is Genius. Prolific & Inspired. I had the honour of working with Vic in the studio mastering his 1st two albums. I beleive he is of the best songwriters in Australia, one of the great ones. His albums could easily become classic. Victor's writing is astonishing. Truly some of the best songs I have heard in a very long time from here or the US. Very few writers dig as deep as Victor and can produce so many styles with incredible versatility. Very few people understand Victor's depth, but when they get it, it's like wow! Very few writers can produce an album where I can honestly say every single song is a great song. Usually you can find at least a couple of throw away tracks. Not on Victor's albums. Truly remarkable! I love the pop album, but I can't stop listening to the ballad album, and now I'm privileged to be a part of the new 3rd album for 2010. It has been 3 years in the making. Vic has me totally hooked, I just love all the songs! For my ears 'North Wind' & 'Waiting' are Classic Hits, and soon we'll have all the new songs! Watch out for Vic's ode to Michael jackson, 'Be Blown Away! and 'YTF' an inspiring song for his Mum. There are some new songs with full orchestrations including 'Mirrors'. These songs hit the ball out of the stadium! Well done Vic."
- *Triple Grammy Award®© Nominated Producer and songwriter for Little River Band - David Briggs.
"My first Victor Pender V7 experience was at the TOTE in Melbourne in 05. His presence was felt immediately. I became engaged and pleasantly surprised by Victor's delivery of melodic tunes and appealing lyrics. Supported by musicians of the highest standard, and songs with ever changing dynamics, he has made me a devoted listener. His albums are breathtaking. Victor is a gifted writer, an inspired producer, and a charming performer. I will be following Victor's progress in the years to come and wish him a deserved success."
Executive Producer & Director, Video Music - Peter Donelly.
"After working with Victor over a very long period of time producing his first two albums and now nearly a 3rd, I knew if we didn't end up in a mental institution, we in the least would have ended up great friends, and with some truly remarkable work, which is now, what I hope we've done. I really hope Victor gets widespread recognition for his work. It may take time given the nature of what it is, but when it happens, the world will come to know some of the most inspiring, uplifting, and entertaining songs that will stay with people over a lifetime. His music is like that. It's cool today. It'll be cool ten years from now. It's timeless, and he has so much of it! I had a vibe on Vic the moment I met him and heard the material. Most people do. Victor is a musicians' musician. A truly gifted song writer. Musically he's incredible, but lyrically, he writes the most profound stuff. I swear, no-one writes like this anymore. To have it all in one package is phenomenal. Vic's voice is just one of those voices you can listen to for hours and still love it. I truly enjoy working and recording with Vic. There are some classic tracks here. Vic is 'Here To Stay!' Don't just take my word for it. Have a listen for yourself on his myspace. The 'Music Man' and 'Born In A Flash Of Light' albums are works of art. I say to Vic do you know how truly great 'North Wind' is? He says 'yeah I really like that track'. I don't know if he completely understands what I'm talking about. It is one of the great songs. There is a new one on the 3rd called 'Jack'. I won't say a thing. Just have a listen. I am so in awe of his writing. Victor is the embodiment of the singer songwriter genre. Check Victor Pender out, you'll be rapt you did. He's done the hard yards live, in the studio, and in his writing room over the many years. I say 'bring it on!" -
