History:
Vidar Vang (33) was born and raised in Bjerkvik, a small town above the Arctic Circle in the north of Norway. He started to write songs at the age of 17.
In 1998 he released a self-financed album, ”Blue”, recorded in his hometown. It was sold at numerous acoustic shows throughout the north of Norway.
Vidar then moved to Oslo, and after great performances at festivals like Quart, Øya, Norwegian Wood and by:LARM, he got his record deal.
Vidar released his official debut album, ”Rodeo” in September 2002. The album was produced by Seasick Steve and Cato Salsa, and was critically acclaimed as one of the year’s best rock albums. It also received a Norwegian Grammy nomination.
In October 2004, Vidar’s second album, ”Stand Up Straight” came out. The album was produced by Yngve Sætre. ”Here It Is”, the single off the album became a huge hit on major radio stations in Norway.
In May and June 2005 Vidar toured Europe for the first time, as support to his friends in Madrugada.
"Vidar Vang", Vidar’s third album, was released early 2006. This time he pulled out his acoustic guitar and made a quieter, but powerful album, believed to be his strongest so far.
The album was recorded live in 4 days at Supermono Studio in Oslo, and was produced by Kjetil Draugedalen, Gaute Fredriksen and Vidar Vang.

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
Thank you for accepting our friend request!! Really appreciate it. Wish you an awesome wednesday! =) Very best regards from Norway and Merlin’s Company!

Poem 2 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): WALKABOUT WITH MY PEN
Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
