One of the songs you did for The Monkees. Has anyone drawn up a list of how many other artists have had hits with songs you wrote? UB40 did Red Red Wine, Ace of Bass did Don't Turn Around, Streisand You Don't Bring Me Flowers, I'm sure there are more but I haven't had my coffee yet. 8)

It would be impossible to count how many people you have touched with your songs. Compared to other songwriters of your lifetime, you are Mozart. You are like George M. Cohen on Broadway. You tower above the rest. The length of your career, the quantity and QUALITY of the songs you have written is simply amazing. And you are not coasting on your early success, you continue to write incredible songs. Pretty Amazing Grace was one that just floored me.

No other songwriter gets into my emotions as deeply or as often as you.

I've been a fan since the '60's when I was in High School. And all three of my sons are fans (they were tree people at the Hollywood Bowl). I'm sure their children will know of you also.

I suspect your work will be eternal.

I've bought every album, several times (lp, cd, cassette, mp3).

And hope to keep having new ones to buy.
