I am a VFX artist and creator of my own original films. I've worked for several Visual Effects studios but my true passion is film-making. I believe that great visual effects are only as good as the purpose they serve in telling a meaningful story. Sure I like to create "cool" stuff; that makes doing visual effects fun but remembering to have purpose is capital.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge with people that are interested in creating impressive visual effects. I don't get paid to record the free tutorial so when I make them I try to have a good time so I apologize if I get off track momentarily but I try to have fun.
If I had any advice for upcoming artists it would be to take a Art, Painting or drawing class. These kind of workshops will teach the concepts of color and composition, some of the most necessary skills to become a designer or compositor. I've read many books on the subject and although they have helped me extensively, perhaps a formal class would have allowed me progress even faster.
