About VGA

Video Game Alliance (V.G.A.)is a organization that hosts video game tournaments, mainly within the campus of New York City College of Technology. Other than tournaments, we allow casual play of video games only on Mondays - Thursdays, from 10am - 8pm on campus in the Namm Cafeteria or Atrium Amphitheater (occasionally). Click here for Directions, Contact, and exact location. Anyone is allowed to come play with us. Feel free to request a certain video game to go on if you would like to play it and if it is not on at the moment. Portables such as Nintendo DS and PSP are also played by a number of people within the vicinity.

VGA Members = $3.00 to become a member || Bring your own controller || 30% off of all $10 tournaments and up

"First Attack" = VGA acknowledges your impressive skills at our tournaments, we will ask you to become a VGA "First Attack" member. VGA will tell you about upcoming tournaments elsewhere (not held by VGA) and will pay for your entry fee. If you do not rank within top 3, you have to pay VGA back the admission fee. If you do rank, you do not have to. If first place, we want back double of what the admission fee was (i.e. if the entry fee is $5.00 and you get 1st place, VGA is in agreement to receive $10.00 back. This for entry fee and prize)

Tournaments at China Town Fair Fall'09

China Town Fair is perhaps the last, but biggest and almost the only, true arcade spot. If you are into playing video games competitively with people who know what they are doing, this is the place to be. Normally, certain games (mostly fighting) are released first on arcade and most likely this place will get it the second it is released in America. This place is located on 8 Mott St New York, NY 10013, and phone number (212)964-1542. Nearest MTA Transit happens to be at Chambers-Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall (4, 5, 6, J, M, Z), Canal Street (J, M, Z, N, Q, R, W, 6), and Grand St. (B, D)

This is the only place V.G.A. hosts tournaments outside of New York City College of Technology for certain reasons such as venue and the crowd. All tournaments hosted at China Town Fair, under their standards, will always be a $10.00 entry fee to participate with a 70/20/10 system for payout towards the top three (3) tournament players; meaning first place gets 70%, second place gets 20%, and third place gets 10% of the total pot (all the money from gathered up from the entry fees. V.G.A will host a tournament day here the first week of every month (so far every Sunday) starting September, and the next tournament will be on....

Sunday, September 6, 2009. The arcade machines that will be used are Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion and BlazBlue - Calamity Trigger As of right now, will always start at 4:00pm, using standard double elimination brackets.
