Movement in Exile
Movement in exile is a new festival for dance in exile. We want to promote and stage professional productions in per definition non-western dance. What emerges in our dance in the meeting or confluence with other dance forms as well as contemporary Swedish performance and dance. Movement in exile 2007 opens with Chamat Carmen!, a new production of the Indian/Oriental dancecompany Videshi. The festival also present Baadjoo, dance and music from Ghana and Madhu´s Dream, a performance with Indian dance and music for children (8–12) by Odissi Dansproduktion. Don´t miss the workshops given in oriental dance for adults, oriental dance for children, bharatanatyam and tribal.
Chamat Carmen!

Videshi have explored, played with and pulled the limits of Oriental and Indian classical dance together with a DJ. The performance is inspired by the music and dramatical tension in Bizet´s Carmen.

BAADJOO
Westafrican dance and music from Ghana. Four dancers and seven percussionists in a performance that sparkles of sound, movement, colour and joy!

Madhus dröm

Madhu is a young girl in a small city by the Indian coust. Her sincere dream is to dance. A performance that points out everyday India, to dare defy and not having to hide ones dream. Madhus dröm stresses the joy in dance and music and takes off in the Indian traditional and popular world of music and dance.
