It was the summer of 1998 and my senior college football season at the University of Rhode Island was about to begin. That was the year that God put something very special on my heart. After going to college as a student athlete for four years and experiencing the ups and downs of college football, it was during that summer that the Lord called me to one day write my personal Christian Autobiography. A book that speaks to the dynamics of high school and college academics and athletics, addresses the pursuit of following one's dreams, discusses the transformation from adolescence into adulthood, encourages student athletes to be better role models for the younger generation and explores taking the path less traveled with Christ by your side. Let's fast forward six years (2004) because that is how long it took before I started writing the book that would eventually be titled "Walking on Higher Ground and Awakening the Spirit Within: A Christian Student Athlete's Spiritual Journey Through the Doors of College and Beyond." It took almost two years to complete this book but August 2006 marked the month that I answered the call that has been stirring inside for over half a decade. It has been a step of faith and the Lord has blessed me so much during this process. I give Him all the glory and honor and I'm humbled that He would even be willing to want to use me. "Delight in the Lord and He'll give you the desires of your heart."
