BIO:
Vikings Champion Sound was founded in 1994 when PsychoFreud started playing and producing reggae and dancehall music, although the name Vikings did not manifest until a few years later. The name was invented by the foundation artist Johnny Osbourne, one of the first people VCS worked with.
The name has since been used to describe the sound known to be diverse enough to cover several genres of music ranging from reggae and dancehall, to jungle, hiphop, african and soca.
The founder PsychoFreud was happy to later expand the sound to include Vicious-E. Together they are the driving force behind Vikings Champion Sound, while at the same time doing separate projects in the Viking spirit. Besides the main selectors, the soundsystems MC's consist of members of UK based Knowledge & Wisdom (Terry T, Souljah, Demolition Man, Daddy Freddy & Cowboy Ranger), Gambia's premier Reggae artist Dr. Olugander, and holds close ties with friends in the music business, both in the Reggae/Dancehall, African- and Jungle scenes.
As well as performing, VCS also works as a booking agent and promotion agency, and has worked with some of the genres biggest names.
To this date, Vikings Champion Sound has performed a huge number of events in countries like Norway, Germany, England, France, Sweden, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Belgium, Latvia, Spain, Austria, Gambia, the US, Jamaica and Canada - and keeps on spreading the vibes weekly in Oslo Norway, being the base of operations.
In 2010 VCS will continue spreading the good vibes, delivering high quality shows, productions and renowned artists, around the world.
