PLATFORM is an initiative specifically set up for the female performers. It's an opportunity for females in Brisbane to get their original music heard amongst a male dominated industry.
PLATFORM was born in March 2007 under Vikki Grant's guidance. We have helped many artists score gigs at various venues around Brisbane as a result of their performances. We want to encourage as much awareness of the talent present in Brisbane, as possible, so please feel free to spread the word. Performers have the opportunity to play 3-4 songs (usually about 20mins) on the night.
PLATFORM is about showcasing quality and therefore performers must submit a demo CD or have some form of media available. THIS IS NOT AN OPEN MIC NIGHT and only those who have been selected will have the opportunity to play. On the night, performers must register from 8.00pm on a 'first in, best dressed' system. The first performer is on the stage by 8.30pm and the night usually runs until about 11.00pm.
Emma Dean is doing a national tour to launch her video clip to 'Real Life Computer' Game - the title track off her debut album. Hope to see you at one of the gigs! You won't want to miss it.

A huge rally for Queer Rights is happening this weekend in the city centre.
This is your chance to be part of a massive event in which the LGBTIQ community and our supporters will call on our government to end discrimination against queer people in this country.
Through this public rally we are demanding:
- same-sex marriage and civil unions now! - Rudd remove all 102 pieces of legislation discriminating against queers! - an end to homophobia in schools!
Please forward this information to as many people as possible. Call friends and family to inform them. Nag your house mates. Tell strangers in the street. It is crucial to have as many people as possible attending so we can have our collective voices heard.
If you want more information, please call Susan 0415 154 555 or Sean 0435 072 347.
See you on Sunday at 1pm in Queens Park (behind the Treasury Casino)!!!!!
Great fun thanks!! There was a brawl in front of us before we even started and the police had to execute a dramatic take down! We enjoyed playing, it was great!
