"The discography on his website is extensive as though it was a weathered veterans. I am aware Ive only heard bits and pieces from his total production but if everything measures up to the quality on these tracks, it would mean society is far more flawed than I could imagine: this guy should naturally be spoken about, written about and celebrated. () He delivers track after track, never tiring in his struggle to piece together the best fragments of his record collection to new original material. If he is able to create such wonderful music from the seemingly impossible position he is in (from a commercial point of view, that is), it is my damned duty to celebrate him as I have done here. It is in this music I can find reasons to keep up my interest for new music. It is in this exquisite creativity we still can find hope. Im so grateful that he lets me listen. Our new album Grand Letdown is now available for preorder at www. tenderversion. com. All orders ship in time for the Swedish releasedate March 4th. Watch the film from our dear recordlabel Tenderversion and get inspired! It is also available in a very limited special edition cd that's already nearly sold out. And a vinyl coming in April! There's no end to all the goodies.
Two releasepartys are planned in Sweden, in Malmö at Babel the 26th and in Göteborg at Konstepidemin the 28th of Feb, and we'll be doing some touring this spring as well. Check www. scrapsoftape. com or our myspace site for more info.
ORCHESTRA SENZA TESTA IS THE NEW MONIKER OF JONAS ROSÉN(ASTERISK*/THE FEMALE ANCHOR OF SADE)!
It's not ambient music, but rather music that elucidates space in a way that reminds me both of the works of Folke Rabe as well as David Lynchs classic Eraserhead movie score. However, it's dressed with slight melodies of most softened light, making it an overall less dark experience. Musical textures builds around tender yet majestic cello performances from Fred Lonberg-Holm, the almost constrained pianowork from Sara Andrea Lundgren (Which actually sounds like an almost Feldmanesque take on "Summertime") as well as the mildly cracked folktunes of Råd Kjetil. As a whole it also carries a lenient theatrical feel which makes it comfortably timeless.
Available on cd with handmade covers and mp3(in a while).
