PRESS QUOTES:
Bad Ideas
“How to describe this record? Sorry, I can’t, suffice it to say it’s the most original thing I’ve heard in a good long while” - Artrocker
“Disassembling alternative pop and putting it back together so it fits a different way and works just as well as it ever did. An excellent single, single of the week by miles and bring on the new album” - Organ
“Their latest is another awesomely unsettling affair…Perfect if the idea of Beck fronting a Foetus/Liars combo appeals” - Time Out
“’Bad Ideas’ was definitely not conceived in a moment of sound mind, shambling along with all the progression and structure of a stuck cd- stuck in a blender that is.” - Bubblegum Slut
“They might have a band name that would shock a priest on a Sunday but they also sound like they’ve accidentally tipped a heavy design book onto a new keyboard and then stuck with the resultant sound with vocals sung through the business end of a drain.” - New Noise
“..this is probably one of those records that I won’t play again for 10 years and then rediscover it and hail it as a work of genius.” - Room Thirteen
“This could possibly be a new dawn for rock.” - PlanB
“Bands such as Vile Imbeciles are nigh-on impossible to place within any existing genre, subgenre, or indeed pigeonhole, not because their musical styling and sounds morph from one track or album to the next, but primarily because they present a musical style which is consistent yet rare.” - Audio Scribbler
Queenie Was A Blonde
“They’ve found a sound that teeters on offensive, but with a hint of ‘go on, listen a bit more, its not like the last one’.. In toto, a total winner.” 4/5 - Narc
“..they've matured enough to know how to discover a groove in the junkyard.. A brave record defiantly unlike anything else being made in Britain at the moment.” - Playlouder
“This is a tough record that’s determined to challenge you at every corner, mincing your brains in a frying pan with plenty of onions in the process” - 4/5 artrocker
“Whatever it is, with this second effort they’ve certainly found a diabolically winning formula. Just what the Doctor (Frankenstein) ordered” - Supersweet
“..completely intriguing and worth sticking under a microscope for closer inspection” - Selby Times
“Perhaps they should share the joke with the rest of us” 5/10 - Scunthorpe Telegraph
“Vile Imbeciles – peddlers of junk funk death jazz. In truth, it is both vile, and a bad idea. I can put it no more bluntly” - Get ready to rock
“Its like they’re begging you to hate them” - Rock-a-rolla
“There is something mysterious at work within the profound sounds their brainwrongs expel. Maybe by album three, they’ll have worked out what it is; by album six, there’s an even chance the rest of the world will have.” 3.5/5 - Subba-cultcha
“..dirty, troublesome grooves..” - Flux Magazine
“..’Queenie was a blonde’ has a tapeworm of british eccentricity curling right through it..” - Plan B
“..as though a tone deaf guitarist is trying to regurgitate an N.E.R.D record” - Rocksound
“Rumbling with vicious intent...” - Birmingham Post
“..their avant garde clatter is surprisingly accessible once the initial shock wears off.” - Petersbrough Evening Telegraph
“..genre-bending magnificence.. Different and effort-less sounding.” - Loud & Quiet
“.. a tweaked hardcore/black-jazz/sick funk crossover… extremely intelligent and challenging.” - Stool pigeon
“There are songs here” 2/5 - Uncut
“..where Zappa meets Waits via the byways of avante-rock post American punk-style.” - Latest 7
“There are moments of real quality, as well as some points where you’re not sure whether they’re taking the piss.” - Lights Go Out
“I don’t think there’s a bad track on there. Definitely recommend you check this album out..” - Nothing At All
Live
“This gig proves Vile Imbeciles ensnared in their own lusts to play their music the way it should be played, a raucous rape of sound and it's a great marvel to watch.” - Supersweet
“By turns confusing and exhilarating. They are the expression of a unique and uncompromising artistic vision deserving of greater recognition.” - The Argus
“Volatile, compelling and tonight sounding better than ever.” - Organ
“..the jams are kicked out with a manic, gritty bump 'n' grind.” - Nemesis
“I’d certainly have to give their discordant indie-post-punk racket high marks for originality..” - Subba-cultcha
…Ma
“…Ma must be one of the most distinctive and important debuts of the year thus far” - Playlouder
“decidedly uneasy listening, perhaps, but curiously triumphant” - Uncut
“Sounds like Captain Beefheart if he were 50ft tall, possessed by the devil himself and plugged directly into the national grid” - Word
“I’d rather listen to Charlotte Church yodeling the new hollyoaks theme” - Loud and quiet
“An unrelenting torrent of loud, messy, uncontrolled noise… maybe I’m getting old.” - Leeds Guide
“Vile Imbeciles wipe the floor with The Horrors guts” - Brighton Source
“A cocktail of growled rock with snotty tunes being hurled across a void of bleak and jerky guitar work.” - The Crack
“..Ma won’t secure this trio a Mercury nomination (we frigging wish), but it will appeal to those broad of mind, resilient of ear and sick to the back teeth of the careerist crap that so often poses as “innovative” these days.” - Time Out
“This punky jazz party drips with passion and commitment and more than a little envelope pushing.” - Petersbrough Evening Telegraph
“..with Andy, James and Bertie Lean its futile to try to analyse why they do things, you just have to believe it.” - Dazed and Confused
“Only a masochist would inflict this aural vomit upon themselves more than once” - Alternative Ulster
“Its terrific stuff – unruly, uncategorisable, sometimes unrecognizable, an embattled cross between Frank Zappa, Chrome, Napalm Death and The Residents” - Dorset Echo
“Vile Imbeciles will surely split opinions.. But its vital that we have bands who do that and aren’t afraid to shake things up a little.” - Artrocker
“Listeners who rise to the challenge should relish Vile Imbeciles’ heady brew.. freakbeat at full pelt and high volume.” - Metro
“Beneath their black, aggressive belligerence lurks a sharp intelligence that is at odds with utterly everything.” - Whisperin and Hollerin
Evening...I reeally want that new single/album thing you're releasing on the 3rd March.
So I went onto Amazon to see what was on there...typed in your name and it said 'Jennifer Tramp' (your new realease) and you could pre-order it, but this was for the 13th.
No problem with it, just wondered if the money would go to you if I ordered it from amazon?
Hii.. this is Albin, the strange kid from gothenburg. I would find it very funny if you listened to my band. It's alot better than the imac microphone recordings. Take care
