Village Culture for future generations Posted at 2:34 PM Aug 29, 2008 view more
Village Culture educates about the beauty of diversity and works to infuse pride back into every ethnic community by creating opportunities for elders to pass on their stories, language, music, costumes, dance, hand crafts, and foods.
Katherine Goldsby is the Head Director of Village Culture and is a Mediterranean dance specialist most know for her Egyptian Saidi and Turkish Rom performances. She has been teaching, lecturing, and performing in the Western US for the past eighteen years. Katherine has worked in many ways for The Voice of Roma since the organization began over ten years ago and she was the Los Angeles producer of the 2008 International Roma Day celebration. Her last audition for the World Arts West yearly production of the San Francisco Ethnic Dance Festival at the Palace of Fine Arts represented the Rom of Istanbul with a Mineral Salt Harvesting dance.
As a former employee of The Voice of Roma, The Seva Foundation and Bill Graham Presents; Katherine has many years of experience creating benefit events.
We need your help to reach out to all communities to encourage all ethnic groups to participate. They are welcome to help us provide a rich balance of ethnic education excluding no culture.

called: SHIPS PASSING IN THE NIGHT. I've been working a lot of hours
for the past couple months and getting home really late. The song
pretty much sums up what it's like to be up while everyone is crashed
out. It's an instrumental on acoustic guitar. Thought you might like
it, but let me know what you think. -peace, ras
This is our singer Eric, all by himself - playing "Interstate Love Song" by Stone Temple Pilots. If you like it - be sure to share it with people - it's a fun acoustic version of the song! :) The code is at the end of the song!
