Bio
..Join us on Facebook...... The name Village on Yarn originated when Nic ran Saki's Japanese name through Google translate, and the translator produced the phrase "Village on their own yarn." Dave thought it would make a great band name simply because of the fact that the phrase made absolutely no sense. After attempting to find other names and much debate, the band settled with Village on Yarn. All three members are music majors currently studying at the University of the Pacific. Saki is majoring on piano, Nic is majoring on guitar, and Dave is majoring on trumpet, but all three are multi-instrumentalists, picking up and learning another instrument in times of need or just goofing around. .... The music created by this trio is of an acoustic/experimental feel. One of Nic's greatest fears when it comes to songwriting is that his songs will sound the same when compared to his own music and to other people's. He wants it to be new and fresh. All three members write, and many times they build ideas off each other. Dave comes from a Jazz background, Saki is more poppy and Nic is more rock inclined, which makes for an interesting dynamic. All three of their main influences are drastically different. .... The band's motto is "Just Chill," and this is reflected in their music. .. .. .. .. ..
