formed and fronted by singer/guitarist shane vain, the village vandals were created to fill the void of no frills, true-to-form rock and roll... comprised of ex-members of various notable northeast ohio bands, the village vandals are compiling influences of rock/hard rock/punk/metal/rockabilly etc.. and smashing it into one!!
shane says: "one of the main reasons i started this band was to have a solo act where i didn't have to answer to anybody. i'm into all kinds of rock from the earliest forms to modern day stuff. it seems like everything is so genre specific these days; i decided to say screw it and play whatever i wanted. i've played in glam-metal bands, punk bands, pop bands, rockabilly bands etc... and it always seemed that my interests would crossover into each other. now i have the freedom to play anything from elvis or chuck berry to van halen..sam cooke to skid row..johnny cash to the sex pistols...the exploited to an italian folk song; you get the picture... no limits, no bullshit. the only kind of outline i really wanted to have was to keep the music as close to purist form rock and roll as possible. that means a good melody, a good hook, and most of all a good SONG."
..either way, it's hard to disagree; shane vain and the village vandals are dishing out a brand of rock that's a breath of fresh air!! so strap yourself in and be part of the ride!!!!

Its all ages! doors open at 7:00pm they sell fairly cheap beer and wine there, but security's loose, and i'm sure their drinks aren't as cheap as stuffing a 5th of 110 vodka into your girlfiends purse, Just a heads up. I don't like our fans being discuraged to come see good music by bar prices.

Also for those of you who aren't familiar with Halloween in Kent, it is the biggest Halloween festival in Ohio drawing anywhere from 10,000 to 25,000 costumed drunks ready to reek mayham downtown till the sun comes up. So the after party will be right there waiting.
The Kent Stage is located right in the heart of downtown Kent, you can't miss it.
