Well Met, and Welcome to our little corner of MySpace. Whether you've seen the show before, or are stumbling upon our bountious offerings for the first time (we're talking about the show, you filthy-minded people!) we hope you enjoy looking around. The Village Washerwenches are a music and comedy act at the Carolina Renaissance Festival. We began in 1998 as all day long improvisational theatre located at the Washing Well in the center of the festival grounds. While our location has remained the same, much else has changed throughout the years. Over the years, we've had as many as 8 wenches at a time, and as few as 3. Several years ago, the act evolved from improv to scripted shows. We now perform 30 minute shows 4 times a day. In honor of our improv roots, however, each shows leaves plenty of room for spontaneity. Also, each show is different, which means you can watch the Washerwenches all day long and never see the same thing twice! Those with small children and pure minds be warned- while the first 3 shows are "PG"ish, the last is definitely "R". So if you find yourself at the Carolina Renaissance Festival and in the mood for slightly (or more than slightly!) risque humor, bawdy songs, and grown women hitting each other in the face with laundry and getting drenched in the process, come by the Washing Well, where a good time is had by all. Who knows- if we pull you up on stage, you might even get a little something from the wenches! We hope to see you this coming fall! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We are The Village Washerwenches, and we *will* get wet for you!
