The Harvs incorporate a breadth of musical source seldom heard anywhere. Songs and tunes two hundred years and older mingle comfortably alongside some of the latest to be released. Nothing is safe. Material comes from various countries, England, Ireland, America and Russia included. In one evening you can hear Soul, Rock, traditional Irish, Reggae, Bluegrass, Hillbilly, Country, Pop, Indie and sometimes original numbers too.
Ian & Liam - father & son. Yes we are family and we genuinely enjoy playing together. We generally like much the same sort of things and approach stuff like harmonies in a very similiar and spooky way so we don't have to spend lots of time practising. One of us plays mandolin and the other plays guitar...mostly it's like that anyway. Both of us sing, sometimes melody, sometimes harmony. We both like a good laugh. We both like hecklers.
Ian and Liam have performed at folk clubs, festivals, pubs, parties and have appeared on TV several times, finding that the wealth of material at their disposal allows them to work in front of many different types of audiences. Their repertoire is constantly growing and they are quite open to suggestions and odd requests at gigs when they will have a go at stuff they vaguely know or have heard somewhere, sometime. It is their 'busking' approach that seems to appeal and provides the vital connection between performers and audience. In the end, having a laugh is what it's all about and The Harvs know how to laugh...so will you. Have you ever heard one of Liams jokes? Now that's funny.
Thanks for being your lovely selves at the Cidershed on Friday night. You were, as always, excellent, and put a smile back on my face. my Son and his friends had a ball, and hope that they will be able to repeat the experience again... Love and hugs, Jo. X
The Irish outlaw Reilly Ramones is not rambling along rainy green Irish valleys. This time he troubles the spotless under the hot Mexican sun and drowns Mariachi trumpets in Guinness. Come and listen to the fine crossover of traditional irish tunes, Rock'n Roll and Hip Hop on the new album "Kind Of Green". www. myspace. com/insearchofarose or www. insearchofarose. de
Hey! At last THE HARVS on myspace. You know we love you, and await your next extravaganza with all the stuff you would want us to await you with... Cheers from everyone at The Cidershed.
EEEEEEEHA! There you are at last... Good to see you, and hope to catch you somewhere soon.. My Son and his friend are fans now, so it seems there is no stopping the wheel in motion. Big hugs, Jo. XX
